I believe this could be it. I thought it would be Hoeness, especially the player profile and how he plays, but I am happy with Maresca. Hopefully, we have a good pre-season, less injuries and off to a flying start
The positive is alot of these players have had a year to build understanding and chemistry yes players like Lavia and Fofana still need to be integrated.
Maresca tactically fits us to a T, now whether he’s good with the off field stuff and the pressure and stuff we’ll have to see. I have really really high hopes tbh
Although Potter had a five-year contract, I heard his compensation was only 1 year's salary (I'm guessing there was some clause about being in the bottom half of the table, as I recall Potter was sacked the game after going bottom half). I would assume similar clauses exist in the Maresca's contract.
Say what you will but our owners are not dummies, they surely have a clause in there. However if this does not work and we finish 10th directors and football and the manager all need to leave. If we finish 6th and we completely dominate the smaller side, our youngsters develop ill take it
Go back a check the facts. There is a break clause and an a achievement bonus. If he doesn't achieve what is agreed in his contact by certain time. So if he's sack it won't be a big pay. So the cub is smart this time. So go get ur facts and stop speculations.
Regarding contract length, Poch was on a two year at £10m per year. Maresca is only on £5m. So if you compare actual contract value (which decides the payout value should the club have to let him go), it’s £20m vs £25m. Sure there are add ons, but if he’s achieving those we will be very happy to pay them
If we get our recruitment right we will succeed. If we go for young players and they don't perform to the levels of Gusto or Palmer then it will be a failure imagine getting a young GK that turns out to be error prone. Imagine getting a young ST that misses more than Jackson.
I heard that what you said about him always inverting the full back isn’t true at all. I was told that he has made changes in some games, putting the full back wide instead of inverting.
We look really comfortable playing this inverted full-back and the quality of players we have are totally different from LFC. Yes, its a risk but the contract has clauses to protect the club, we aren't that stupid…
Giving a manager Time and space is something majority of Chelsea fans don't have in their vocabulary. This is probably one of the factors in the owners changing managers after 1 year.
While it's fair to criticize Maresca for lacking in-game management, it's important to remember that Poch had the same failings. The subs were nearly always crap aside from the last 5 games. Also, he almost failed against Brighton in the second last game after James' dismissal, but we saw the game out
5 year contract cost wise cost the same as pochetinos 2 year contract.. lol don't be fooled money wise it will cost them same if they get rid of him early
what a downgrade if this turns out to be fact. its so hard to like this club anymore w/ the crap owners we have now. no players want to play here anymore.
Why do you care about the contract? He cost close to nothing.. and i'm sure there are some breaks clauses in the contract. You complain about stability but then complain when the club shows it.
There is only one genius manager. Jose. Period. What makes him good? He can make the best of what he has. Philosophy. Depends. I am excited about Enzo. But he will be gone in one year because he lacks variety.
Chelsea were/are an elite club.... why would you employ a coach who has no real CV.....this will end in failure again and be in the same pisition next year.

Great analysis!! Learnt a lot. Sounds like an exciting appointment!
Maresca as Chelsea coach is a big gamble all we can do is hope it we work out for everyone.

this
I think what you said about the need to get top 4. The directors will be the next heads to roll if we don’t! Hope both our Enzo’s have banner seasons.

I think his style of play will really benefit our players

😂 the youth team's gonna shine

5 years has stipulations in it and break clauses. Potter did not get 4 years paid out when he got fired.
Does klopp have a plan b
The sporting directors have to go if this appointment doesn't work out

I’ve heard people say that his in-game management is actually better than some have said.
Thanks
There are Clauses in the 5 year contract to sack Maresca
Let's hope Maresca is Pep 2.0
We have a Pep regen
Everyone always act like they know jus for likes 😂
A new era is upon us, we are winning the Premier League next season
Short answer no but we'll see how it falls apart
U guys always act like u know what's in the contract and clausees.
Try to slow down a bit when speaking
Bud speaks at +2.0
If this guy doesn’t get UCL…

Your argument for McKenna that he simply cannot be Chelsea managaer but like Maresca is comical, coming from someone who likes Maresca as well.
Poch >>>

Chelsea are FINISHED
Easy go and support other club, wanker.
