When I saw pictures of the blouse in your Sewing Through the Decades video, I didn't even realize it had such a whimsical print. Maybe I am just oblivious, but I think the blouse could pass as "normal" at first glance and definitely works as a day to day garment.
I love this outfit so much!!! It really suits you and looks fantastic!! I particularly love the blouse!! From the ladies to the ruffly collar and sleeves to the contrast between the front and back panels, it's just SO WONDERFUL!!
You made a great call with the trim. It really ties the whole outfit together. I really like this style of video, its like spending the day with you while you sew.
Angela you are a very talented maker! It’s why we watch. Part of sewing is finding the best way to get the job done, and you are very good at that. I love this outfit, that blouse is gorgeous and I have been trying to get a perfect part of black pants for a couple decades now. BTW I think there is a moment in the process for all of us where we decide whether we like and enjoy what we are doing or not. I’ve been sewing for 50+ years and have hit that place many times. Nice to know I’m not alone.
"...and quickly realized I shouldn't be considering it, I should be doing it." That actually made me snort. Shame about your buttonholes not cooperating.
I adore this outfit. The blouse with the black back matching the pants makes for a startling glorious reveal to the front view. You should make your mark on this one.
O.m.G. i have that exact same fabric and had no idea what to do with it!!! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I am going to try and attempt this. Love your channel btw. Also, for anyone who wants to know the fabric she is using for the shirt is J. Wecker Frisch queen of we'en card panel. Happy sewing!!
I really like this outfit. The pants look like a nice comfortable, stylish fit. The print is so unique the way you used it. I’ll be looking at fabric panels differently now.
Yay! The "silly rules" question was mine. Sometimes I am lucky enough to teach others how to sew (mostly 10/11 year olds) and I always tell them that any method that gets the job done is a good method.
Brilliant outfit! Love the fabric, but especially enjoyed the way you chose to film this video. It was informative, but hearing your thought process throughout was especially pleasing. It’s quite easy when locked away in our sewing space to bog ourselves down with doubts an self criticism, but to see we are not the only ones is lovely. The finished result is lovely and I’m especially in love with the blouse. Really enjoy watching you work, you never fail to inspire me.
While I LOVE your elaborate and historical garments, I'm really glad that you've been making clothes from a more modern period - I'm switching over to sewing a lot of my wardrobe and so watching you make shirts and pants and everyday jackets etc has been really really helpful and inspiring.
That seam binding collection is awesome! I have been collecting a bunch myself but don't have any as old as some of yours. What a great gift from your mom!
I love how this came together. The accessories are spot on too! If there's ever a time u need a break or your not finished with a garment, could u possibly do a look book from the decades with pieces you already made? It would refresh the memories of those who have been here for a while and let newbies know how truly talented u are! Just a suggestion. Love your work 🎀💓💓💓🎀
This blouse is literally one of my favorite makes of yours! Your style is so inspiring, it makes me want to inspire myself from it for my personal wardrobe!
I love this! Looks great! Watching you sew has helped me with my technique. Even just cutting out fabric, I am not as afraid and slow anymore after watching you zip through cutting.
I love this blouse! I love the colors and how they fit so well with each other. I also love the playfulness of it and the whimsical aspect of the ladies on the front.
That Queen Dolls fabric is amazing! I may have to pick me up some panels and make some pillows out of them, or maybe even frame them for some wall art! The outfit turned out quite lovely and looks very very flattering on you! Thank you for another inspiring video!
I love the high waisted look with that belt. Sometimes accidents are a good thing. Great blouse!!! I also have to tell you how much I enjoy your videos of the whole make. So few youtubers do that. I've been seeing since I was 8 and am about to turn 65. I've worked in construction of backpacks, fish ing vests etc and done alterations. Can you recommend other youtubers who are similar to you and your method of filming? Thanks again, love all your videos.
I think it's awesome that you show your versatility as a creator. I loved this outfit, and if my sewing skills were anything like yours, I would make 78 of these blouses and just wear them all day every day.
I’m considering changing my focus in college to become a costume designer in theater. I’m taking a costume construction class and my attention was pulled to do this. Anyway, because of that, I googled some stuff and came across your videos. I just absolutely love watching your projects take shape and you have a pleasant voice as well. Keep up the great work!
When I have to re-stitch buttonholes but the fabric weave has weakened, I baste a small square of interfacing within the two fabrics. Between the blouse front and the fabric interfacing. I prefer the lightness of the sewn in interfacing, as opposed to the stiffness of iron on or seam bias tape. Lovely videos. Thank you. 👚
Many complements for the total ensemble, the blouse is the head turner but it goes so well with the trousers and the hat and shoes are great additions. Hats off for this one Angela 🎩
I adore that shirt. OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! On a total side note, I also hate my automatic buttonhole option on my computerized sewing machine. In a bout of frustration a while back, I actually grabbed my vintage Singer buttonholer (or one of them - I purchased one on my own long before I discovered I had forgotten about the boxes that I inherited with my Singer 221 Featherweight and lo and behold, three more buttonholers. Thanks Grandma!) and discovered that the vintage buttonholer attachments work on any standard low-shank machine. It actually works BETTER on my modern machine because the shank lifts higher anyway and I can lower the feed dogs with a button rather than having to put a plate down to take up room. Just set the machine to a standard center straight stitch and let the buttonhole attachment do the work for you. They turn out so beautiful, and I highly HIGHLY recommend if you're down for some testing ;)
Thanks for the great tip! I also get frustrated by the buttonholer on my newer model machines, hadn't really thought to pull out my vintage buttonhole attachments that go with my featherweights.
I honestly prefer the casual clothing videos! They’re a lot more accessible to me as I’m fairly new to “selfish sewing” and making pieces for myself rather than my kids or husband. But I love all your videos for learning new techniques and getting confidence to try new things. :) Btw, those pants are everything. I love them.
This outfit is sooo chic! I like that you are doing a mix of both costumes and more daily wearable items. Keep being you, that’s what’s interesting! ❤️
This looks SO good! The lines of the pattern and it is very well assembled! Love it! Veggie......hm....tomato. They conatin lycopen, which is stress-reducing. Would like to have less of that, hahahaha (at least the negative kind)! Hilarious video! Your sense of humor is just sublime!
WOW!!!! I think your garments turned out fantastic!!! I love the hat and shoes!!! I really enjoyed watching you make them. You did an AMAZING job!!! You have wonderful taste in prints and i am just in awe of how well you did especially with the button holes which sometimes can be tricky with singer sewing machines.Take care my friend.
I understand not having the motivation to sew sometimes paired with the “my stuff is crap” feeling. I tore my fingers up really good with my last commotion. Never doing a clown outfit again. It was a evil project, like most clowns. I love your projects. I greatly enjoy watching them. I watch them a lot when Im puttering on my projects. I greatly enjoy your commentary.
I don't sew, but I personally love watching your videos and listening to you and whenever I'm stressed I come straight to this channel! I'm sorry if that is weird
Everything turned out great and really flattering but I specifically loooove the blouse. It looks so cool! Perfect for Fall but really cute and fun year-round too.
The 1930s are highly underrated as an influential decade for fashion! I love this spookyish look. It's inspired me to finally get my own vintage reproduction pants altered to actually fit me. 😁
I love this outfit. Makes me want to do something similar with panels, in a different style. This casual series is wonderful and as enjoyable as the more formal series.
I think those panels are super, super cute!! Great job in visualizing this. You are a joy to listen to. I wish you weren’t so hard on yourself. I don’t believe I’ve sewn clothing for 40 years.; but, after watching your videos I got inspired to make a pair of slacks...using a pair I wear, as the pattern. Wish me luck. You inspire. Keep up the good work.
As someone who is at the dreams-of-sewing-at-your-level stage, I *love love love* watching your videos and seeing how you work through ideas and challenges. This outfit is amazing!
I adore the blouse! As always, love your sense of humor. Your elaborate costumes are really awesome and I love watching you sew them in your videos, but I love these videos just as much. I find them inspiring, and much more attainable for me to achieve. I would love to make a similar blouse!
I was in a fashion program for 3 years (I thought I wanted to be a costume designer)... I vividly remember my first class. We had been instructed to purchase a pattern and the very first instruction we were given was to pitch the instructions. They are always convoluted and they’re usually confusing. When you’ve done enough sewing you have a strong concept of how to construct a garment. Trust your instincts.
I think having the plain black on the back of the blouse helps focus the eye on that fabulous print - happy circumstance!
I think it makes it more flattering too!
When I saw pictures of the blouse in your Sewing Through the Decades video, I didn't even realize it had such a whimsical print. Maybe I am just oblivious, but I think the blouse could pass as "normal" at first glance and definitely works as a day to day garment.
I'm obsessed with this blouse. It is everything ❤❤❤❤
Can I just say how much I love the black trim on the collar. It makes me very very happy
Me too! It makes me so excited for Halloween even tho it’s August right now hehe. It’s sort of subtly gothic but also glamorous and classy.
I love this outfit so much!!! It really suits you and looks fantastic!! I particularly love the blouse!! From the ladies to the ruffly collar and sleeves to the contrast between the front and back panels, it's just SO WONDERFUL!!
Very well said.
You made a great call with the trim. It really ties the whole outfit together.
I really like this style of video, its like spending the day with you while you sew.

Angela you are always sooo hard on yourself. I just wanted to let you know you're doing great and you don't have to constantly apologize.
I adore this outfit. The blouse with the black back matching the pants makes for a startling glorious reveal to the front view. You should make your mark on this one.
This blouse might be my favorite thing you've done. It's quirky and classy at the same time.
O.m.G. i have that exact same fabric and had no idea what to do with it!!! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I am going to try and attempt this. Love your channel btw.
Also, for anyone who wants to know the fabric she is using for the shirt is J. Wecker Frisch queen of we'en card panel. Happy sewing!!
Love the high waist-ed look of the pants! Definitely a happy accident! And the blouse is so freaking cute. Great video
This outfit really does suit you and i love the use of whimsy in your designs.
I really like this outfit. The pants look like a nice comfortable, stylish fit. The print is so unique the way you used it. I’ll be looking at fabric panels differently now.
This is a great blouse! I wish it were something I could buy!!!
I love the shirt, I love the cut and the fabrics you used for it so much.
Yay! The "silly rules" question was mine. Sometimes I am lucky enough to teach others how to sew (mostly 10/11 year olds) and I always tell them that any method that gets the job done is a good method.
Love it!! Making a vintage pair of pants is on my ultimate to do list but I'm so intimidated by them!
I love the speed up sewing and cutting. It really feeds me
Brilliant outfit! Love the fabric, but especially enjoyed the way you chose to film this video. It was informative, but hearing your thought process throughout was especially pleasing. I thought the ladies were the patterns of the dresses you would make, but then realized this was a fabric! I love this, and it suits you so well!
I love how this came together. The accessories are spot on too! I LOVE the blouse. It’s so fun and nobody else on earth can say they have that outfit! It turned out beautifully
This beautiful old clothes have a really special aesthetic❤❤
The fabric with the ladies gives me life!
the blouse is so cute! I gotta keep that in my mind when finding or buying panel fabrics
This blouse is literally one of my favorite makes of yours! Your style is so inspiring, it makes me want to inspire myself from it for my personal wardrobe!
I love these casual garment videos! The historical costumes are fun, but these are great, too.
I love this! Looks great! Watching you sew has helped me with my technique. Even just cutting out fabric, I am not as afraid and slow anymore after watching you zip through cutting.
I absolutely love that blouse! You make me want to incorporate more whimsical patterns into my wardrobe
The print has a sketchy hand drawn quality, so it would probably frame really nicely! And thank you :)
I always enjoy your commentary on your sewing journey, don't underestimate yourself, you do a great job
I love the high waisted look with that belt. Sometimes accidents are a good thing. Great blouse!!! I also have to tell you how much I enjoy your videos of the whole make. So few youtubers do that. You look great in these clothes. We love to see these kinda things as well as the more elaborate ones. Thank you for sharing with us!!!.
I think it's awesome that you show your versatility as a creator. I loved this outfit, and if my sewing skills were anything like yours, I would make 78 of these blouses and just wear them all day every day.

Love the video! It's great to know that I am not the only one with a sewing machine with a temperamental personality.
Thank you. 👚
I love the newer casual styles. So inspiring
That print is incredible! I would wear that blouse all the time!
I love your answer to the vegetable question
Many complements for the total ensemble, the blouse is the head turner but it goes so well with the trousers and the hat and shoes are great additions. Hats off for this one Angela 🎩

This outfit is beautiful. The back fabric on the back of the shirt makes a great contrast
The blouse is absolutely magical
I love watching your vlogs when I have hand sewing to do...
Adorable outfit. If I saw it in a store I would buy that blouse in a minute. Thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration.

I love the ladys on the front! I gives off such and timey hollow eves feel!
This outfit is beautiful. You have done a fantastic job once again.
I love that blouse. The way you've cut the fabric is fabulous.
You have taught me to always buy up any trim in thrift shops or on sale cause I might some day find the perfect use for it.
Looks like something you buy at a very expensive store. Love it!
Love all your creations, just make what inspires you and I am happy to watch and learn :)
I understand not having the motivation to sew sometimes paired with the “my stuff is crap” feeling. I tore my fingers up really good with my last commotion. Never doing a clown outfit again. It was a evil project, like most clowns.

Can't get enough of your videos. So inspiring!
I love these more wearable outfits! It’s so interesting to see all the problem solving and I always love your fabric choices!
the fact that I immediately thought I would be a turnip when you read the vegetable question cracks me up
That blouse turned out so precious! I love it too!
Gosh, was just at the Sew expo last week and saw that fabric and couldn't think what to do! That awesome idea.
The 1930s are highly underrated as an influential decade for fashion!
I love this spookyish look. It's inspired me to finally get my own vintage reproduction pants altered to actually fit me. 😁
LOVE the blouse. It does not look like a costume at all. Great job!
The blouse is absolutely charming! Great work! So happy to see that print up close, it was so cute and silly!
That blouse is AMAZING.
the ensemble turned out super cute! I can't wait to see what's coming next time.
Excellent! Your decisions about the back of the blouse and the trim were so on point. Also, the high waisted pants are perfect. Lovely outfit. 👏👏👏
Love the ladies on the fabric, quite unique.
I love this outfit. Makes me want to do something similar with panels, in a different style. This casual series is wonderful and as enjoyable as the more formal series.

WOWZA!!!! The fabric panels are fantabulous !!!!
The blouse is everything! I must start to consider a panel fabric 🤩
So cute...I love how you pulled it all together...
As someone who is at the dreams-of-sewing-at-your-level stage, I *love love love* watching your videos and seeing how you work through ideas and challenges. This outfit is amazing!
I love the pinning method for the pants!
Love the colours -- had no idea of the details till seen close up. Great mix with "The Curious Creations of ..." Spot on!
Nothing cheesy at all- perfect!!
I did originally subscribe for the costumes, but this is something I could actually make .. and would actually make. Love it
You have a good "eye" for design and what you did in making this blouse and the entire outfit is really super cool!
This outfit is adorable! Love the shoes and hat with it. Well done.
I love watching your vids while I work on my owe sewing projects and videos!
I love the entire outfit. Great ideas for the blouse. It looks beautiful.
I love the blouse! The fabric was such a good choice, and I actually really like the plain back
This outfit is really cute and could be worn as casual ware:) Thanks for sharing Angela.
Angela you are brilliant with your color combo and trims. Love the whole ensemble!
OMG the Fabric!!!!! I loved this.
Love how your outfit turned out.
I adore the blouse! As always, love your sense of humor. Your elaborate costumes are really awesome and I love watching you sew them in your videos, but I love these videos just as much. I find them inspiring, and much more attainable for me to achieve. I would love to make a similar blouse!
I love the contrast of the black trim and buttons against the fabric of the blouse! The outfit is so cute.
It’s mesmerizing to watch you work!
I learned to sew in 4-H and Girl Scouts. I love your work. You have a great style sense and I LOVE this blouse!
