You might need 1-2 kg more sand. Don't use oil in top and send in bottom by this the soil can be diluted in water and the tank became cloud all the time so use soil in the bottom and sand on the top to prevent it from direct contact with water

I hd put bio media into hob from my sump to cycle..I hd mentioned it also
Typically garden soil will naturally release ammonia when it is first submerged. Garden soil is also very rich in beneficial bacteria.
