NEW APM-300R VEHICLES! Denver Airport Train (Double Round Trip 7/1/2024)

- Today is day one of the new Denver Airport AGTS train APM-300R vehicles in operation, meaning this will be the first enthusiast video recording of these new trains. In actuality, this video is even releasing before the airport's official launch of the new train and ribbon cutting ceremony happening tomorrow, July 2nd. I take two round trips on the train in this video and get an inside look at the trains manual controls with a member of Alstom staff overseeing the operation of the new vehicles.
I apologize for the fuzzy view, the train windows were unfortunately not clean.
Here are some fun facts about the AGTS system and the new trains:
-The original C-100 vehicles (cars 1-16) have been in operation since 1992.
-In 1996, 2001, and 2007, 15 new CX-100 vehicles were added to the system, making for a total of 31 vehicles, with 7 trains running at once.
-With the addition of the first APM-300 train, Denver Airport has the only APM system in world running three rolling stock types on one system. The APM-300 vehicles will slowly replace all of the original C-100 and CX-100 vehicles.
-Once all vehicles are replaced, the APM-300 trains will be able to operate at significantly faster speeds (up to 50 MPH) than the original vehicles (up to 35 MPH).
-The trains will eventually be extended in length to 6 cars from 4 as the system will not be able to operate any more trains without more stations being added (the current layout can handle 8 trains max)
-With the new vehicles, the system should have a time efficiency of about a minute and a half between trains. Currently timetables average 2-4 minutes between trains. - Наука та технологія
Pretty cool conversation with the Alstom people!
It’s nice that the blue overhead lights are back up and running in the northbound tunnel!
HOLY COW! So modern!
Ima come see next time I’m there. They need these in Seattle
I was volunteering (I’m one of the people with plaid jackets and cowboy hats) at the airport last week and got surprised by one of these. Very cool! I was in Car 32 and it had audio issues during announcements.
That's cool. I wanted to volunteer at the airport when I was in high school for my required hours, except I lived in Parker so that was not very efficient. I noticed some Audio issues on car 40 when I rode that one too. I still miss the old 1995 recordings in general though.
@@ElevatingDenver - well if you’re still interested in in the College Student program and it’s a lotta fun! I recommend it. But back to the recordings, when I’ve looked up old clips of the train back then I noticed that they use the word “Concourse A/B/C” I wonder why they switched to “Gates.” Maybe it’s just simpler?
Thank you for taking a video of this. I actually came across news segments from some local Denver news stations about this, and I was wondering if someone already took a video of this train.
So far it's just me and an airport employee who have videos. I'm surprised I managed to get the first one out even before their official launch. Glad you enjoyed this video!
Wow it looks so cool I like the trains there
SO AMAZING! I’m glad they kept the announcements! I kinda wish they kept the black screen with red text on 1 or some of the train cars for nostalgia.
The red text is 80’s 90’s. They wanna make this Airport Modern by making them have modern screens
Honestly, while the screens are more modern and fancy, the plain red text actually seems easier to use. Instead of having to make out all the added details, the red on black text has good contrast and a concise message.
For example, on the platforms they replaced the red LEDs years ago. The old messages simply said "train arriving" or "To Concourses A, B, C". The new ones display the full voice announcement in smaller text.
There is a shopping mall in Seoul South Korea that I frequented, called APM, Clothes on point, like Mall city, with all them malls, i was in every one of them.
I love the new trans , Atlanta will have them too . I don’t know when they will be in service.
From what I've heard, Atlanta will get these in a few years and so will Tampa. Not sure about Tampa though.
@@ElevatingDenver well, from what i know, they will probably use them in the new airside d (tampa).
when airside d opens up, there is a chance they will also replace the ones at a, c, e, and f.
I bet Atlanta airport train has the same thing
Swanky.
Do Denver have credit to get the New LTA Singapore
already rode them; love them. but i will miss the old ones.
It will be sad to see the old ones gone, I've been fascinated by these trains since I was about 2 years old. Were you here today as well?
@@ElevatingDenverI remember reynelda muse voices
@@ojaaviationme too, I loved the old chimes and sounds, they were so cool.
@@ElevatingDenver me too.
@@ElevatingDenver i was.
damn you beat me but i rode them a day before since i work at the airport so im the first elevator enthusiast to ride them
what job do you do at den?
Ah, that's cool that you work there. Are you gonna post a video on these soon?
Do the APM100 and C-100s still operate on the fleet
For now yes, they will probably be present for a few more years.
I bet they’ll park the old ones and use all new ones during peak travel seasons (ie Thanksgiving, Christmas week) so they can go faster and move more passengers around.
@@mashy712 the new ones will replace the old cars as they arrive in sets of 4. The airport currently has 6 new vehicles last I checked. The first train was added with the old ones for a total of 8 trains running at a time.
Now this airport is definitely downgraded for some how the news pop out since December
That's not fair I didn't go to the new train
They just started using the new one on Monday, there will be two of these new trains operating starting in August. If you fly here again soon, you'll probably see them.
@@ElevatingDenveroh okay
@@ElevatingDenverthank you

what’s this about?
@@litteraly_no he comments timestamps on all of my train videos. If I had to guess it's just moments he thought were interesting.
@@ElevatingDenver i saw him doing it on other channels too, including my own. i guess that’s the reason.
I found the hidden Elsa in 4:59
Those news cars look great. Too bad the voices are still out of whack.
Yup, voices are still way off. Honestly even more so on these right now.
ngl, i hate the new cars. they are very ugly to me and i will miss the c100s and cx100s
they still have a lot of them in other airports. (atl, tpa, mco, sea, etc)
@@litteraly_no yeah i mean at den
well, they (probably) still have the old ones up right now.
They will be operating all three types (C-100, CX-100 and APM-300 for about a year. The CX-100s will likely stay for a few more years, but there will only be about 3 trains left with them.
okay, good. at least there will still be a few trains left.
