I always felt so sorry for Data for being screwed (literally and figuratively) over by two women of the Yar family. Love this tribute and Data/Tasha!

I love this video so much that I found myself crying! In my opinion, Data and Tasha were meant for each other. It's a shame that their relationship wasn't explored fully in the series.

I...can´t...find...words.. so perfectly done, the bittersweet truth how what has started as a romance but unfortunatly never developed to a lovestory cause-that´s life- it came to an harsh end. You never know when your time´s up, till it´s too late! the way Data looks on his biggest treasure, the holographic image of her, you can tell he already has some feelings for her and he´s more than just an android, Wish he could realise how human he is!!! how sad he "learned" it this way...

It would definitely have been interesting, Data obviously had some attraction to her even if he didn't realise. I think she would have helped him to develop emotionally a lot quicker if she hadn't died

They are from Star Trek. You’re my favorite day that I saw on Star Trek. You’re my favorite #DATA

Man she should have stayed. The Role would not have been too superficial. She really didn't see her character was going to develop a side of DATA we never really got to see.

@KingGoose24 She was pregnant, and they all regret her leaving, that's why she makes guest appearances in future series.

It was not Denise Crosby who got pregnant and left. It was Gates McFadden. Denise simply wanted a wider role and when she didn't see that happening, she left. I think that was an unfortunate move on her part. I also think it's unfortunate that there was never really another female character deeply involved with Data. It could have been a deep avenue of exploration.

+greendogflyer I think he explored her avenue quite adequately deeply in that one episode.

Thank you so much, such high praise =P Thanks for linking it ^_^
And that's so true, they were so meant for each other. He definitely had feelings for her, even if he didn't understand them. I wonder if he realised it when he got his emotions chip, it must have been so difficult

Data is definatly more human than he wants to believe I think he can feel love but he just can't identify it why else would he have an attachment to his friends...like I said the love is there he just doesn't know how to identify it

I agree, he's been able to feel a lot more than he ever realised. I don't think she meant it but I think she would have wanted it to happen sometime down the line, there was definitely mutal attraction there.

@ramsaybaggins Denise Crosby was not pregnant at all. She was ruled out, because their role as Tasha Yar was too superficial for her and and she wanted to turn back to do motion pictures.

@ramsaybaggins Gates McFadden was not pregnant in Season 2! She got her son John in 1991, and was pregnant during Season 4. She didn’t patricipate in Season 2, because she got only an one-year-contract für Season 1. Muldauer (Pulaski) came for her, because the producers wanted to create a Trio like Kirk-Spock-Bones with Picard-Riker-Pulaski. But Pulaski pleased not by the fans and so McFadden returned with Season 3 after personal requested by Gene Roddenberry.

@demoniosolitario Filiming while pregnant is hell, plus time off to look after the baby =P Why do you think Dr Crusher isn't in series 2? =P

    • @Ana36920
      @Ana36920 8 років тому

I have read somewhere that Crusher/Gates wasn't in season 2 because she has had some troubles w/ producers of the show so gave Dr Pulaski in exchange. Later Gates came back cause she got along w/ the crew. i don't know if it's true but it's possible.

...anyway... Mr. Data had emotions... and Mr. Data had a soul... hmmm... he was a Neurotypical human in real life... simple...

  • @ramsaybaggins

@KaraLVRogueLZ She got pregnant as far as I'm aware and that's why she left, I think everyone on the show regrets she had to, that's why they kept bringing her back in different iterations.

In my opinion Tasha was really good and not superficial at all. I kinda see Troi as superficial but maybe it will change (I'm currently in the middle of s2), who knows.
