You went quite fast on Gleba due to the spoilage. But was wondering you could give us a moment to explain the "chain of resources" Like you quickly glanced over the nutrients that are important, the different fruits.
I imagine this will be in the next episode, which I'm both annoyed and glad for, because I have just arrived on Gleba and I am SO confused I hate it... I hate Gleba, I hate spoilage, just... UGH. But, if I figure it out on my own, that's better than just copying whatever Nilaus does because that's just having the answers handed to you.
@@Edmar_Thorn I tried on my own, and got so frustrated and confused, so I'm just here to copy Nilaus' base. Straight copy, I don't care anymore. Gleba is not fun and I don't want to spend any more time on it at all. Vulcanus and Fulgora were so much fun, I didn't look at anyone else's work because I never felt like I had to. I expect Aquilo will be the same. But after 20 minutes wandering aimlessly just trying to find the special rock I needed to break so I could even unlock the first thing, my patience was already at its limits, and everything else Gleba did to me since then has only made me hate it more.
That's literally what I did. Took the first rocket out. I want nothing to do with that stupid planet. I'm grinding repeatable techs in the meantime, and then after I watch all of Nilaus' Gleba videos I'll go back, copy his base with my robots, and then hopefully never have to think about it again.
You’ll want the nutrients from spoilage recipe made in an assembler because if you run out of nutrients you have no way to start it back without handcrafting.
@@reuven2010 The problem is that biochamber nutrients rot, so biochamber wont be able to make nutrients for itself; no amount of circuits helps with it
@Nilaus, what is the purpose of using efficiency modules in Biochambers ? They do not consume electricity do they ? Does it reduce the nutrient consumption ?
The timer is incredibly punishing. Gives you no time to experiment and figure stuff out on your own. I think most people are just going to copy a blueprint book somebody else made and then bypass the "fun" of Gleba altogether.
As ever, Nilaus lands with the products of three whole planets in orbit with him, and dominates the landscape from the beginning! I fear that when I get to Gleba, I'll end up with a bunch of spoiled products that I've harvested without thinking about what I'll do with them, and a bigger bunch of pentapods, counting down to my doom. 4, 3, 2, 1, coming, ready or not! Of course, on Gleba, the arithmetic is in base 5. Wow, I think I just invented a mod - planets with the recipes in different number bases?
going in blind I've been bringing in a nuclear reactor that is set up to disconnect it's grid if the main grid accumulators are above 50%. So I can try and get the new planet rolling and see how to automate power, but worse case the nuclear powers up and saves the day haha.
Hey Nilaus when it comes to streaming and youtube recordimg hopefully next gen graphics cards will have the better format currently avaliable on the 4090s it handles the particle effects much better. (Piratesoftware did a video on it a while ago)
I really don't see how my graphics cards can affect the quality of the UA-cam/Twitch compression. It doesn't matter what quality is uploaded, it is the compression that makes it blurry
@@Nilaus Search pirate software AV1 Encoder. Thats the video talking about the encoder that only the 4090 has at the moment (most cards since the 30 series has the decoder so far) [edit: damn phone typos]
How come you don't use buffer chests (green) to put your items in? Then, any items that get added to your network will go to the same chest that the production buildings puts them in.

After the sheer awesomeness of the previous planets, Gleba seems a bit "eh" to me. I get what they're going for, and I'm sure it presents a nice playing challenge, it somehow just doesn't resonate with me.

Yes . Beginner in Factorio will just quit here . I am 1000H in Factorio and many Overhaul mods like Pyanodon but this Gleba thing makes no Sense at all . I remember when people quitting Vanilla Factorio because of Oil Processing . No chance for people to survive this planet ^^

went to gleba with 4 personal lazers they killed all i come across so far, just have to run in circles around the big guys

To generate electricity, I used ordinary steam engines and fed them with rocket fuel, which is quite easy to create on this planet
That is 2.5x less effective than using the heating tower
