I know you said on Tumblr that Die Young didn't really have a meaning to be picked for the dub, but Blaze is the character that "dies young" in Sonic '06 - also Sonic himself - and both are characters voiced by you! - so I think it works!

I’m listening to this as I’m on the beach after coming out of a battle with mental illness, and it’s really corny but it feels like the end of a movie when the credits roll, and I want to thank penny for her amazing voice and her funny videos, she kept me going through this tough time. :)

This sounds like when you’re at a big party, but you found your way to the very back of the backyard or on the roof, and you’re watching stars, and just feel relaxed and like nothing’s wrong with the world, but you can still hear the music blasting from in the house.
Maybe it’s just Penny’s fucking heavenly voice, or the instrumental, but this is a big comfort song. I love it
I lost my best friend to a fatal car accident 3 years ago, two weeks after the 06 dub was released. Watching the premiere of the dub was one of the last things we did together before we got the news she didn't survive. Hearing this brings back so many memories of how our little sonic obsessed selves bonded over the sonic dubs and how excited we were to watch this together. It's funny how the most random things can bring people together, be it a love for video games or a shared interest in a youtube channel. I'd give anything for her to still be alive, if only to watch the upcoming Shadow dub alongside her like we used to.
Even if you don't see this, I want to let you know how genuinely life changing your content is. I've stuck with you since before the move to this channel, back when it was just Knitting Giant Beanies, and you've helped create so many great memories to look back on. In a way, you've helped me realize just how valuable life is, even if it sounds dorky considering it was mostly through meme-y sonic improv. You're an angel, Penny, never forget it.

I had a really similar experience with when Undertale came out, back when my at the time boyfriend and I were in the middle of high school. I truly felt like he was with me when I watched the 5 year anniversary symphony mix. I've not quite sure I've cried so much like I did then.
I was staying in a hotel just after having been in the hospital back in mid 2020, when the SnapCube fandub for Riders & Zero Gravity came out. Its the first video of Penny's I've seen & its how I found out about her content. Its also one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm so thankful for her music, too. The vocal cover for that one level from Shadow the Hedgehog is super creative and so catchy!!
I know exactly what you mean by bringing people together, too. In such an interesting way, this is such a perfect song for unity in that sense. I hope you do well in life, & know that there's always someone who's with you & super proud of you.
