On the album cover insides they mention several instruments. I have a good many different versions of Eskimo... This is what it says on mine: - Kooa (plucked string instrument made with seal gut stretched over dog skull sounding board) - Pooeye (a three to give note flute made from hollowed whale or walrus bone) - Sedrak (tuned pecussive instrument made of walrus and whale ribs which are struck with bones or frozen fish) -Segook, Annorak, ooluksak, Atseak - Drums of various types, all made by stretching skins over skulls, rib cages... The eskimo scale has five notes, - ~ F, G, B flat, D flat, E flat. It is also said on some sites these were all handmade - whether by the Rez attempting to make something similar or ones borrowed from authentic Eskimo sources, no idea. They sound beautiful either way! I wouldn't be surprised if they had made up things from various household objects and still got it to sound wonderful.
Anophis wether or not it’s true, I just don’t know lol. Part of the magic for sure. Like the sounds could have been made with a computer (keyboard) at that point, but maybe the ‘Dents actually had those instruments.
@@Anophis LOL the Residents totally made up those instruments and names for them. They don't even sound like words from the Inuit language. Google "Eskimo instruments" first and then try Googling any of the terms the Residents present here; you'll only get links pertaining to this album.
As far as I know, it's from this year. It seems to have been made to promote The Residents' upcoming Eskimo Deconstructed album on their pRESserved reissue series.
An interesting cover that is good, but does not have the charm of the original. Its fine that others may like it. I suspect this is on the single includes with the LP reissue issued this year. I have it, but am unable to play at the moment.
I can't wait, guys! Loved you in Glasgow. I preordered this and hope to play with it. - Ven
oh! wonderful! Ialso would love to re-construct some Residents. should have another look probably...
WOW! Is this the whole re-recording? It's astounding!

Will we ever know how those sounds were made ? Brilliant.
Fraizz They say in the liner notes of the album

Help us.
I'm a bit confused about this... Is this actual song available for sale?? If so where can I purchase it??
I can sell it to you if you want, I give you the address and you send me the money ? 50 euros only !
I dunno... Residents are "weird" but the R&L video still haunts me... When was this made?
