Pentatonix were on the US version of the Masked Singer as the California Rolls and they did this song. Somehow they finished third. So I don’t know if there is an official music video yet or if the Masked Singer owns the right to the video.

You should see if you can find them doing this one the Masked Singer when they were "California Roll". They sang the song twice. First time with the mask and the second time at the end of the show were they got to finish singing the song.
I think the unmasked version is the best.

@@Tammy-km5uf Yes. Mitch is totally aglow with the surprise he's giving the audience, who clearly expected a female performer for that part.
On the live version Mitch was in the clouds (as usual) and it looked like he wasn't even sweating. He made it look effortless.

My favorite is live at Vienna (I believe) Scott goes almost as high as Mitch in their live your versions 💕 but masked singer is pretty great too at the unmasking…

And, because it was on the Masked Singer, there were actual instruments.....but I didn't find that took away from their performance at all. A stunning arrangement!!
You need to react to their live version of this when they were eliminated from Masked Singer, that’s the big visual. You can tell the California Roll costumes were tamping down their vocals. That live version was next level. Mitch gave an all-the-way Mitchslap. He was so extra with his Freddie Mercury mustache, and it was fabulous.

Britt, you absolutely have to do a reaction to Haley and PMJ cover of Creep. She finished 3rd on American Idol in 2014 I believe it was. She has a phenomenal voice, she did the cover while on tour in Europe. She also did it in 1 take while be sick at the same time.

This is one of the rare performances that have instrumentation. If they sang straight acapella on the Masked Singer, they would have totally been guessed. They were anyway 🙂

My understanding is that this is a "cleaned-up" audio version of what they sang while masked in the competition. I think some of the audience there didn't realize that the high part was being sung by a guy (Mitch), and when PTX sang it unmasked it surprised some of the audience members who hadn't heard PTX before the show.

hi, I'm a new subscriber, I've enjoyed your reactions so far, I will say though if you want to see/hear where PTX started go to 'The Sing-Off' 2011 season 3 as this is where it all began with the original 5, Scott, Mitch, Kirsty, Kevin and Avi, there is about 12 competition songs and you will hear the growth as they move through each round. Also try and get video's with the judges comments as there was also some interviews afterwards.
Another one to look at would be 'Defying Gravity' by Superfruit (Scott and Mitch). Have a great day

Ptx were a victim of their own popularity and awesomeness. I believe the judges knew who they were from the beginning but kept it going because ptx fans were good for ratings.
So thery were recently on the mask singer, if you didnt know. They lost in the semi final, Proof it was not done on singing talent. ....
Yeah most of these shows are a popularity contest instead of the ACTUAL talent. That’s why I don’t watch them.

Excellent version, as you would expect from them. Acknowledging that I am a fan, I will say, that Almira, of 4th Impact did a solo of this song. It is , without question , the best version ever sung. Including Radiohead.
They are all heavy belt title holders. Just when you think you figured them out and can rope a dope in the corner to outlast their tonal onslaught they hit you with a sonic uppercut and shatter your glass jaw with their vocals and you are down for the count and your corner throws in the towel. Pentatonix...never should have got into the ring with them.

I really and truly love your reactions and think you are such a good and beautiful person inside and out. Like you I am hearing a lot of your song choices for the first time. So just a little constructive criticism would be to pause fewer times. I do say that with all due respect. I understand the rules requiring you to pause and comment for copyright reasons. I just think it would be better to allow it to play a little longer IMHO. But again I just want to be clear I am not trying to be negative because I do truly respect you and appreciate you.
