- How I set up my files to CNC a ACM aluminum sign with printed graphics. Using Flexisign 10.5, Vectric Aspire 8.5 and my Shapeoko XXL this is how I set up and separate my files for production and apply the printed vinyl to the ACM sign shape.
I ordered from substance today, and let them know I saw their products in your video, they said they were gonna contact you and let you know they appreciate it!
Excellent! You will not be disappointed with the media, let me know what you think And I will be doing a review of substance media soon.
Were do you get your ACM and what size panels do you use on your Shapeoko? Love your channel, can't get enough of it.
Thank you! I used to get my ACM where and when I could get it, I've used Grimco MaxMetal, Tubelite "Elite" brand, and handful's of others. About a month ago I tried 2 4'x8' sheets of Piedmont Plastics Sign Grade "Alupoly" 3mm ACM. The BEST ACM I've used in years and priced better then anywhere else I can get ACM. To me it was just like the original "DiBond" before all the knock off junk hit the market. My typical cut panels are 12x18, 18x24 and 24x30 from ACM, I cut the ACM down to whatever size I need for the upcoming jobs.
2:20 I've watched this about five times now and I still have no idea what TF you're talking about. Clear as mud. Thanks.
What bit do you use to cut out the ACM and do you leave tabs in place?
I've been using these for about 3 years: shop.carbide3d.com/collections/cutters/products/102-125-flat-cutter?variant=928065603
Replaced a few they cut pretty good and last, I've also used the #274Z .125" Single Flute ZrN but not much difference in the cut. I found the best way to get a smooth edge on ACM with those bits/cutters is to run counter clockwise/conventional. My feed is about 70-80 with a plunge of 40 and run my Dewalt on the #2 setting.
I don't leave tabs on ACM, I just hold it until it's done cutting.
@@TheSignGuy thank you!
Is that aluminum sheeting?
Yes, it's 1/8" ACM aka "DiBond"
