Bulgaria To Romania By Train | Ruse to Bucharest 🇧🇬→🇷🇴 | Balkans Travel

- In this video I take the train from Ruse, Bulgaria over the Danube River to Bucharest, Romania.
Included in the video are journey time, ticket price, crossing the Bulgarian/Romanian border (which happens to be the Danube river) and arriving in Bucharest's main train station Gara De Nord (Bucharest North Railway Station).
After spending a couple of days in Varna I learned this is the best way. The other option is to take a bus from Ruse bus station which is right next to the train station. Unfortunately for me I'd just missed the daily bus by a few minutes.
Passport control was as simple as could be. Getting on the train fron Ruse was the first check by the Bulgarian authorities. Once crossing the Danube the Romanian authorities came on board and took our passports. They gave them back after 15 minutes and we were on our way to Bucharest.

Love it Paul. Would you believe we just booked a trip to Romania last night for March. We are flying into Bucharest then travelling up to Poiana Brasov for a bit of skiing and to see Bran Castle aka Dracula's Castle. Can't wait to see you content on Romania mate.

How many hours needs to go to Bucharest from Ruse? Train or Taxi which is better? I am a traveler from India 🇮🇳
Can't remember if it's 4 or 6 hours. It's all in the video it's only 6 minutes long have a look and decide for yourself 👍

Can you point me the dirextion of the timetable for this journey please? I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find anything concrete.
If I remember correctly it was on the CFR web page which is the Romanian train system. I wasn't so sure myself until I arrived at the station. There are buses which are quicker though I'd just missed one.

Is it possible to cross those borders only with your ID card or you need passport ?
If you are an EU citizen your official ID card is enough to cross between the borders of BG and RO.

You need passport and if you're not from EU you also need visa

@@Honey4y4 the rules are constantly changing but I believe you need a negative pcr test and you have to quarantine if you go to romania now. Kayak.com is useful for updated travel information
