Mark was quite candid about his feelings on Neal's Block pod - his relationship with his dad, being a partner to someone and stories he's told previously but now sharing their effect on him.
It was the best podcast appearance I’ve ever seen wrt to Mark … everyone needs to check it out

Neal seems like the guy that will read you all the nutritional facts on the edibles you gave him at the bar while he drinks sparkling water he brought from home.
When Neal talked about subbing in a line or word for a joke and you get caught up between the old-new…that happens to me when I’m performing music live. But I get caught up on whether I’m going to do a big run while I’m singing, or if I just go standard recorded version.

I can't stand that anti US loser. I always hated how he tries to speak for others. HE always said "every guy in here does this" or "thinks this" then say some dumb shit i never thought or did.
After watching him on Blocks, seeing Mark make a joke without anyone reacting pains me in new and uncomfortable ways 😬
personally the way he tries to wiggle out of bad jokes makes me laugh even more. his expressions and mannerisms kill me

I swear man, I could listen to Neal talk for hours and hours. Every time he's on a pod I'm just tuned in hard and I feel relaxed.

Think Mark being so open with Neal prior on Blocks podcast made them more comfortable here to enjoy themselves here.
Neil, from my limited exposure, is multiple steps ahead of every comedian he is with. He is meant for greatness (even more than he has now; i.e. Chappelle show.) I’m excited to see what’s next. If I had the balls I would go into comedy and try to break into the comedy scene. Sadly, I don’t lol😂 but I appreciate the guys/gals who are doing and succeeding. Rare humans we get to understand a little bit better.
(The only way i know Neal is a couple postcards sadly I haven’t seen Chappell show other than a couple skits but he’s brilliant always two steps ahead. Great to watch. It’s a treat, honestly.
PS love mark saw him in Texas took picture my first real comedian experience hope to have much more. As good and sometimes better than great concerts it’s close! Anyway, you won’t see this but thank you guys for everything.

I wonder how many people, what percentage, just listens to the pod, as opposed to watching it.
Audio only still is great but watching it is always better.
I listen to it while doing chores or walking the dog. Then I read the comments and look for the time stamps that people suggest to watch👍😂

It's only Mark, right? Can't remember Sam doing it. Only other instance I know of from many stand-up pods I follow is Mark & Joe List on Tuesdays, although never seen List do it in his many behind scene videos with other comics performing at his gigs. Maybe Im wrong ... ?

One audio note for whoever does the final edits. Have them roll off the bass below 120hz. So many moments during the pod where my subwoofer booms like something just fell on my roof.

I'm pretty sure his take was about how the audience is savvy about the structure of the jokes. He doesn't want jokes to go over peoples heads, but he also wants to sell it as something organic. not a thing he wrote with this specific structure that he knowns works. I get it. Mark just wants the full magic to work without the audience being analytical. it's like when a magician pulls of a trick without the audience knowing how it's done. the perfect audience for any performer are people who listen and get the material, but don't analyze it far enough to uncover the recipe for its success.
Adam Curtis documentaries are on another level.

I listen every week in podcast format. It's said to death these two guys are the best. Mark Normand consistently makes me do a spit take. That fucking clan line got me. I had to come comment for Ali G. Rhythm. I sarcastically commented recently about mark being on a ton of pods but the quality and quantity is outright impressive and much appreciated
