Just saw him in Lafayette, Louisiana at Festival Internationale and it was surreal. To all the musicians there is always someone in the crowd that carries your tune beyond the stage.
Vieux farka toure is from west Africa and the language he is singing in is Bambara. He is the son of the late but great Ali Farka Toure. There is a interview on UA-cam of Ali Farka Toure and he says African American blues and African blues are same because we are the same people For those of you that forget African Americans ancestors come from Africa :)
great track.... indeed us Black-muslims allthroughout africa, we know how to make rhythmic original Blues Music.. Blues = 1 of Africa's many different styles of music

@zorrror1 well i see your point, and you do have a point we are black regardless of weather we are Black-muslims, black-christians and ect, but the undenyable fact in what im saying is that this Black-muslim artist here is exactly that = a BLACK-muslim, muslim merely means = beliver in the One-ness of Allah, and if you even understand what he says in his music, you'd understand that praiseing Allah in a Black-muslim gospel fashion is what many of his songs does, likewise with his Father=Ali.
@jdijstelblom Differences are the most beautiful things of the world. The racism or discrimation is just the fact to not accept the differences. And it creates violence, war and stupid comments.
@napturaldiva904 besides one thing africans got in common weather you're from east-africa like me or west or south or noth, we all can speak several african languages, mostly neighbouring tribes languages, so thats a common thing with us africans, something that you fellow black afro-americans Lost during the slaveships that the white-christian crusaders forced yall into... Such talent one of the best musicians as his father was ❤
he's awesome!! I saw him in concert the other day in DC, it was the best damn money i ever spent on a concert. the sound of his guitar was uplifting.
Escuché esta canción en la presentación del Mundial Sudáfrica 2010 y me gustó...
As soon as he starts playing, you just have to hear the first few cords and you know it's him. WONDERFUL!!
Tel pere tel fils. merci
Sounds like someone being able to remember the music he dreamed of at night (which you normally always forget)
Ohhhhh so right
this is beautiful
His father taught him well........He is a legend and his son will be also.
Hi... Ali did not teach his son, Vieux took up playing guitar in secret, despite his fathers wish.
@@kth5077 thats right. I think it says on Vieux's website that his father didn't want him to he a musician
What we teach to our children without knowing we teach it... this is the real education
@@kth5077 music is in his blood, the same as his father.
I respected his father's music. But I think I'm in LOVE with his!
@@thebig3864 He is...
@@thebig3864 well show me your sources
@@thebig3864 chill the f. Out man, I'm asking you your sources because every website I check said they are father and son.

Such a beautiful song; I have been listening to it just before since I first heard it on the Africa Rising compilation.
I used to say...how do all those Germans and Spainards love the Beatles so much and they don't even know what they're singing? Well. Mali.
What is this compilation? Looked it up but can't find it. Thank you!
Love from Brazil. Boas energias do Brasil! Musica sensacional.
This song is fantastic. I pretty much like that groove and the line-up of used instruments.
I love this song, the guitar is so in your face!!
I discovered this song when it was free on iTunes a few months ago. Very relaxing.
Saw him in Seattle last night. It was beyond awesome.
He is one of those guitarists who have a really unique playing style.

Looking forward to seeing him in London on 12 February 2012.
