I love this piece from Laufey, I can really hear the little influences of classical music from the romantic era, which makes a lot of sense why it is named Nocturne!
I think of Bewitched as a little story that constantly shifts from her past self falling in love and getting heartbroken, and her present self learning how to overcome that fear of falling on love again.
Nocturne is where I think there is an overlap of both the past and the present, with melodies of songs like Bewitched, California and Me, and Lovesick being mixed into the piece, which is why I think Nocturne is in the middle of the Bewitched album.
Nocturne is where she feels melancholy, confusion, but also the overwhelming thrill of falling in love again, something she's scared of. Nocturne is where she explores these feelings and confronts them.
