I used to love watching this as a kid. Pity it finished as so many people benefitted from it . Now that's what you call entertainment ! Even though I'd be in tears at the end of the programme it was tears of joy . Bring back Annaka rice !
I was a driver for the Royal Mail between 1985-87 and part of my collection route was at the BBC studios on Wood Lane.Although it was before the Challenge programme Anneka must've been on something on TV because I knew who she was.She was in the foyer one afternoon and I said hello and she asked me about my job.Very bubbly lady, appeared very down to earth and a stunner in the flesh. So once this programme came on I watched it most weeks for the first couple of years, very good entertainment compared to rubbish on TV nowadays in my opinion.
In those days I was in my mid to late teens, from schoolgirl to YTS trainee, and wouldn't have heard of Anneka Rice until this programme started. It aired when I would have been a young adult (between nineteen and twenty five). By the way, the theme tune is in F and then G major!
By Jove, I was a fresh faced twenty one year old at the time. I remember Challenge Anneka and wish the programme had kept going. I am not a runner, so chasing Anneka would have been impossible!
I'm looking for the Challenge Anneka Series 4 (1992) episode "Red Sea Diving" (October 23, 1992). I would be grateful for the help for the link or sharing.
