The Green Chili's ones are not too bad. As well as the Mustard ones. Beach Cliff had a weird "Louisiana Hot Sauce" recipe though.. I sometimes get hints of a "miny flavor" rather than a "subtle hot" flavor. Not a fan of Beach Cliff's "raw ones in Water" and the "Soybean Oil" ones. All in all.. they make a pretty good product for the price!

Trying to eat clean, healthy, and low carb and the Beach Cliff in Water was recommended to me. I came looking to see if they were fillets or whole because Walmart description did not say. So glad I found your video! 5 years old, but exactly the info I needed. So glad you liked the plain ones. I've never eaten Sardines before but I do like fish/seafood. Good to know those were your favorites!! Thanks for the review!
Thank you for posting. I enjoyed watching. When it comes to sardines, you are either in or out. As for myself, I'm in so deep. Unfortunately, everyone I know hates them so I can't ask people which ones they like most/prefer. I always buy the same ones (sardines in soybean oil, sardines in olive oil, and occasionally sardines in tomato sauce). I bought sardines in water once by mistake. I thought they were OK but enjoy a "little" season to it. Mustard (for the exception on hot dogs I don't personally care for but you both inspired me to try the spicy/hot sauce sardines. Thanks again for posting.
My pleasure. Thank You for watching & the kind comment. I hear ya on the "Love 'em or Hate 'em" thing. I've always enjoyed doctoring them up a bit, but there's really no specific way that I found I didn't enjoy. They're cheap, healthy & easy to grab for a quick snack or to dress up a salad or pizza. Let me know you're favorite way to use them. I get some of my best ideas from viewer comments. Once again, much appreciation for taking time to watch & comment. Cheers
@@1Bonehed Just tried the hot sauce and loved it. If it wasn't for your video, I would have never tried it. I think my favorite way to eat sardines (no matter what flavor) is garlic power and a few drops of lemon juice.
LOL. Nah, they won't hurt ya. You oughta give a few of the others a try. I was surprised to find I liked the ones in oil or plane water. Most times I'll add some sriracha chili garlic or sambal oelek. That really wakes them up. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Maybe it's just a south Louisiana thing, but most all grocery stores & even dollar general type stores usually have quite a few varieties. If you have any AG stores in your area I'd try them.
My mom would only buy the soybean one and i grew to love them and them as a adult now. I always see the other kind in store but I'm afraid to try them lol but your review helped! Next time I'll try the mustard , water and green chilies
Thanks for sharing that, I'm honored to have helped you build the confidence to try out the other flavors. June & I kinda had mixed feelings about doing the review, but after the review, now we find ourselves buying them almost every time we go shopping. To be honest with you, if you like Sriracha, try some of that on them...YUMMMM. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Social-Nationalist Meme Network That's strictly your opinion. I don't like any of the sardines in sauce and I find the mustard to be the worst. I only buy the sardines in olive oil.
I generally eat the sardines in water, and I noticed that some cans of Beach Cliff sardines are different from others. In some cans the sardines are relatively soft and have a good flavor while in others the sardines seem hard and not as good. I wonder if the latter cans have more salt and/or were processed differently. I have found that when I open a can, the aroma tells me which kind I have, and simply touching a fork to the fish confirms it. I've started recording lot numbers (sometimes difficult to read because of their position at the edge of the can) to see if there a particular pattern, and I then could point this out to the manufacturer to see if they can shed some light on this.
+Bob Jacobson We certainly do tend to taste with our noses, smell tends to tell the tale. I've heard through comments that there has been some movement as far as packaging & manufacturing is concerned & maybe that is a factor to keep in mind, but I can't say, personally, that I know one way or the other. I like them & eat them, but not enough to recognize any kind of an obvious difference. You've got me curious, I'm gonna have to look into it. Thanks for watching & the comment. Let me know if you find anything,
So, I used to buy Beach Cliff because they were cheap and good. I saw that some cans at the store were labeled "product of morocco" while others were "product of poland". Like you said, some were bigger fish like you see here in the video with a nice firm texture and salty taste, like how I would expect a good can of sardines to be, but lately I've been opening cans with little minnows, and some of them with the heads still attached!!... I admit I'm a bit picky when it comes to the head... and those cans put me off.. They were minnows, there was no taste to them and they were murky and mushy...
My Dad loved them. I wasn't told they were gross, but I definitely developed that opinion on my own. Maybe it was the smell. He also liked Blue Cheese salad dressing and I thought it was gross too. I now love that dressing and I'm ready to try the sardines. Sounds like I've been missing out on something great!
Good videos folks! Saw your review and decided to try the various kinds as I'd only tried the ones in water before.
