Martin Lawrance was never really good to begin with. He was hyped by those who put him in a dress and try to have him copy Eddie Murphy. There never was any substance that he could rely on to put his foot down and keep his pants on. Hence it was so easy for them to end him.
It's similar to Howard. Let's be honest, he wasn't that good to begin with. So he had no foundation to stand on and negotiate terms.
Katt on the other hand always was good. He worked hard to build a base of his own over many years, which is why he was able to perfom in Hollywood and keep his pants on. When he went to hollywood, he already had a strong following and many years of stage experience.
I'm sure that Katt is well aware, that failures who never put in the hard work are now trying to ride his tail coats to cast their failed careers in a new light, that they don't deserve.

I met TH on Christmas Day back in 2007. I was bartending at a small historic inn in Philly (Valley Green Inn) and he walked in on a whim (w/o a reservation all by himself, looking like he just got finished from a hike or a run.) I just happened to walk up from the back to see if we had any reservations coming in. Everyone always wants to sit in the front near the fireplace, so I was kinda dead back there, besides making my fellow servers their tables customers drinks. Anyway, he asked for a table, and bc we were a super small restaurant, we really didnt have any walk ins coming in on a holiday, only reserved tables (but we could always make exceptions for a table of 1)
My hostess that day was pretty rude to him, and I felt bad for the guy, so I said, "I'll take you at the bar, Sir."
He gladly obliged, and followed me back, taking off his coat & his hoodie - and then I saw those eyes and instantly knew it was him.
I couldnt believe it- he was the coolest, most well spoken, world traveled person I've ever met. Everyone was soo jealous that I actually got to serve him & hang out with him.
I didnt hound him or ask him about Hollywood or anything, just treated him like a regular person. We talked about history, like about the park where I worked, bc it is really immersed in alot of that area of Philly & its colonial history, etc. He was so versed & knowledgeable about the most random things, it was impressive.
He was even chatting up my other tables, just a very pleasant, genuinely nice dude. After he was finished, he asked for a pen. He signed the extra paper from his check really sweet, like Merry Christmas, thank you for wonderful service and treating me so great. I was floored. I still have it to this day.
My point to this all is that when he speaks, i listen, and i believe him. Every word. Him & Katt, both.

Then he ventured off and started his own call Funnybone Entertainment in california. And of course he brought a lot of talents with him. Do you remember Shane light skinned guy and Gary Owens they were all on the comedy circuit just getting started. And Katt and Lunell, we all did shows that was small time Im not a comedian Im a singer so I performed at the shows Katt and my brother and Lunell did. We all did a show in seaside California called blackknight Entertainment . Katt was really sweet to me. He and my brother still keep in touch. My brother lives in Vegas . Thus men had to take the female roles.

You are going to have to compromise in this business if you want to make it." I looked at him like he was crazy and said Well i won't compromise, and what I believe is what I believe. What they're saying is very true and accurate. A white man being strong and steadfast is a perfect picture of masculinity but, a black man doing it is looked at as aggressive and a threat. So, put him in a dress and call it "comedic value"... Smh. Any man, especially Black man, that agrees with that narrative is a part of the problem, having the sheeple mindset. Because these men have proven their comedic value without wearing a dress, so that's highly unnecessary. But, ignorance is bliss and with the added power of the dollar... It's moreso paradise. Smh. Katt and Terrance, salute brothers, keep your morals and values intact. All money isn't good money.
