Sir when I was 14 I had 16 viruses on my computer. 2 of them were fighting to hijack the anti virus I had. Why? Because I think those little drag and drop dress up games.

I got one on my mom's computer when I was young through similar websites that would pull up hentai randomly. Needless to say, I got in trouble
I got a worm, which hijacked the main Google page,
added an ad called "Google Casino" below the Google search bar, which was a generic ad referal link.
(One that you click on, it brings you to a web page, which then redirects you forcibly to another website).
It also injected itself into web forms and added these referral links to everything I posted,
so the mods of the antivirus forum I was asking for help in, had to edit it out every time I posted.
I was about 12 at that time and my dumb ass thought it would be a good idea to disable AV and run an obviously malicious file, because I somewhat trusted the sandbox of the new AV program (Panda AV). Worst decision.

@lucent does malwarebytes really detect all cryptominer? Cause I downloaded a file which 100% contained a crypto iner but I didn't run or installed it. I still got some weird folders in my program data tho. I scanned my pc with malwarebytes and like 3 others. Got a taskmamager+ app and didn't saw anything suspicious. Do you think I'm safe?

This type of ransomeware actually hit the company that I work for, a few weeks ago. Exactly as you said, because people clicked on email links that they shouldn't have and walked away from their computers to go to meetings or just left them sitting on, overnight, after everybody went home. Because all of the company computers are connected via the same drives and wifi connection, work has been a nightmare and we've basically had to shut everything down for about a week. I've seen first-hand, how bad this can get.

Good thing that I remembered then that Windows licenses don’t expire and with that red flag i quickly hanged up,turned off my laptop and restored it offline.

Yeah mostly you shouldn't worry unless your machine is acting strange. If that happens just take it in to an expert. Also just keep an eye on your accounts and don't even open suspicious e-mails, mark them as spam and tell it to unsubscribe.

Can you do en episode on how effective Windows Defender on Windows 10 is. Some people say it is really good if you know what you are doing, some say to stay far away.
It is good, just don't install any 3rd party anti-virus, anti-malware, ect since these programs detect each other as viruses and cause a lot of problems that can only be fixed by reinstalling. Also windows defender has the least issues relating to windows 10 not playing nice with non-windows programs.

Sometimes my PCs fan would start going crazy and spin super hard for like 10-15 second and I never knew why. I always thought it was probably something I had open when I left it but know I’m kind of concerned.
You can infect your whole hard drive via virtual machine.
Be careful and format all your disks when you are done with tests like that.

i watched this, and i kept looking at my task manager, thinking i got some kind of virus LOL, i dont know its just me (as if i feel like the virus showed in the video are in my computer)
About 3 months ago I had to get a new hard drive and install a version of Windows 10 I'm not familiar with (my old HDD fuckin died). The IT guy also took some liberties to install extra programs (stuff like "UA-cam download 4K" or sth) in my PC along with my old programs, recovering my files and all. Ever since, my laptop's been randomly turning on while I leave it on sleep mode for too long. One night I woke up at 2:30 AM to the sound of the fan blasting like a jet engine. I also have a mouse with a red light that turns off when the computer's not being used, and it was on as well. I freaked out for a second and thought "yo wtf I should check on that" but I fell asleep again and forgot about it. I thought that maybe that version of windows had a different way of doing stuff when the PC was on sleep mode and that it was just a normal process, but now I'm thinking that I might be a bit of an idiot.
