Scotties are the best!! I have raised 5 scotties from puppies. I got my first scottie 43 years ago. I loved the breed, I was hooked. Thus four more beloved scotties followed. I loved each one best. I lost my last girl, Ivy in 2020 on the 27th of April. Too old for another. The most loving, sweet babies ever. Long live the scotties. Sally USA AND I

it was my first dog as a young adult. I knew nothing about the breed. I have just these words to describe: small dog , giant personality.
when she was 14, I was away in college, my parents took care of her, I had a dream that I found her dead in the backyard. I asked my mom to take her to be seen , and my mom scheduled an appointment at the veterinarian, however stated that she was well. two months later , as my parents went to pick me up at the airport, she told me that my scottie had passed, and my dad called her in, she did not come as usual , so he found her exactly where I saw in my dream. few weeks later, I dreamt with her in the backyard , and I petted her. then I never dreamt with her again.❤

They have a deep bark like a large scary dog, and are great security system for your home.

Pro - love their family especially their little humans, fearless, cuddly, love playing, trainable, easy to maintain, sensitive, alert, dapper. Cons - you will fall deeply in love with them

I raised 5 scotties from puppies. None of my scotties dug in my flowers or vegetable garden. They bark loudly though not often. Yes they caught woodchuck. mice voles. I got my first scottie puppy in 1976. Is there any other breed?. I love scotties. I am nearly 81 years old too old for another. I lost my last scottie Ivy 3 years ago, I miss her dearly. Miss having a scottie in my home..❤❤❤

Excellent Scottie info! I received my first Scott on Christmas Day, at 12 yrs old and had 5 other wonderful, devoted dogs throughout my life. These little guys grab a hold of your heart like no other breed. The smartest Scotties were a Scottie/Poodle named Mac. He could count up to 10 and do many tricks. Rogi, a female German Scottie that we received while living in Augsburg, Germany, was the top obedience dog in her class. If she didn’t want to do a trick, she would shake her head “no” until you showed her a treat.

We have had two Scotts in our home, first was Petey. He was a black male who loved the fourth of July. I honestly couldn't believe how he loved the sound of fireworks and would chase the flash of Roman candles. He lived to be ten and we lost him to liver cancer. Our second was a Wheaton male named Mac. He was scared to death of loud noises, thunder, gun shots at a long distance disturbed him. He however was scared of no dog, he would take on a Rottweiler if one presented itself. We lost Mac when he was six, a tumor appeared in the upper pallet of his mouth, very aggressive that within a weeks' time started displacing his teeth. We are currently planning to add a third, we didn't think we could bear putting ourselves through the potential loss again but have found ourselves missing them dearly.

Oh no, I'm so so sorry. Losing 2 just be awful. My childhood best friend was a Scottish terrier called Molly, I lost her 10 years ago to bladder cancer. She was given 3 months to live but she liver for over 2 years. Cancer seems depressingly common with Scottie dogs 😥

My brother and nieces lost their beloved Klondike also due to cancer. They were devastated when they had to put him down. They claim that their Scottie was the best dog they’ve ever had. They called him their little gentleman.

My Scottie Ninja loves babies, love walk without the leash, no worries about territories, the most social dog ever. I dont want to train him like a robot, but the basic like stop, run or come, amaizing how he learnt. Autonomous, he likes to walk with me but not necessarily besides me. My first dog.

Gracie was our Scottish Terrier and we loved her. We've enjoyed other breeds but Gracie was the most gracious and loving. Our only concern was her aggression toward other dogs. Once, while on a walk, she attacked a German Shepard without warning and that freaked me out.

Its funny, my family has had many scotties over the years and they have never been a problem in the garden. BUT they also had children to play with and a barn to hunt for mice in.

I love all of the little Highland buddies. I have (2) 1/2 Westie brother and sister littermates. They are just packed with personality. The little male is all Westie in his head and in his heart.
You just can’t help but fall in love with the little Scottish terriers.

    I had two Scotties
They were good with my Cat and FOSTER DOGS.. MY female would "seek permission " from my Chihuahua before going on my Sofa
They are comical and loveable. Both mine were rescued from people who couldn't keep them.

I really want a Scottie someday! I will name him Duffy. Do they tend to like or not like cuddles? I had a corgi that I loved but he didn't really like to be touched.

Scotties are amazing dogs- loving, fun and full of energy. They love their people forever. But don’t get a Scottie on a whim Scottie’s need structure and socialization to be there best. They are loving but not demonstrative- if you can’t handle that, look elsewhere.
