I have had my Scottie Ruby for 14 years having had Westies before that. She is the most loyal caring.beautiful interesting dog I have ever had. I cannot praise the breed enough for its intellect and good disposition.
I love my Scottie Puppy. He has a mischievous playfulness that makes for some really adorable mannerisms and behaviors. He is only three months old and is cuddly, but on his terms. He is really picking up house training and loves when we are all together in the living room. I have never seen a happier animal in all my life.
Right? The personality on these dogs is something else. Not to mention the intelligence. I swear it's the only dog I've known that almost tries to play pranks for a laugh!
We have two Scotties, a young boy and older girl. Love them to bits. The boy loves to sleep on our bed, and the girl is learning that it’s OK to do that. They can be stubborn on walks; getting them both to want to go in the same direction is not obvious!
I'm delighted to see you've included my Scottie, "Max the singing scottie" at 5 mins 35 secs in your video! He was a lovely dog, brave, faithful and sturdy-hearted to the end. We had to say goodbye to him this August but it lifts my heart to see him again! And thanks for the great information!
Your Max was was a delight to see! I am so glad you posted the timestamp and his name! I hope to become a Scottie mom someday and your sweet singing Max just made my heart smile!
A wonderful dog , loyal .. intelligent , wise , big dog attitude in a small dog, confident , loved to be groomed , strutted around afterwards like he’was a king , that was my Lochlin .. RIP my lovely man ..
This was one of the best dog breeds I've ever had. The stubborn intelligence is unlike any other I've had. Once they figure out following your rules can be fun or important, they will learn almost the first time they successfully complete that task. My dog would prank his favorite relative. She left her luggage in the guest room, he figured out how to unzip or open the luggage, and would always gingerly grab a set of bra or socks and come show off to my aunt with a seriously mischievous grin and try to get you to chase him a little, but if you asked he would bring it and give it to you no questions. These dogs are unbelievable problem solvers, after they exhausted their attempts to get you to do it first for them, lol.
This was fun to watch! Yes, we have a Scottie in our hearts and home. He is attentive, playful, independent at times, loves music, loves cuddling and is good at following basic commands and I'm still adding new things for him to do. Love this doggie!
I have 2 scotties. Max 15 months and Poppy 12 months. Max is from an excellent breeder he is very level and relaxed. Poppy is from a very irresponsible breeder and has many social issues that are improving steadily. They really do need social interation from the start. Poppy was isolated for her first 5 months. and was badly cared for by the breeder. They are fantastic dog's and give so much more than they receive. Thus video is oerfect in describing the breeds temperament. X
Thanks for the info! What I liked best was how you introduced the video and then instead of a "but first..." where youtubers normally Like/sub beg and try and huck sponsors (even though we already had to deal with UA-cam's native ads), you just got to the info you promised. Along the way after giving us sometime to decide if we liked the info/content they you ASKED, politely, for likes, you didn't Command us to, you asked us. This not only got you my like, my comment, but also my sub. This is the kind of change I want to see in the UA-cam world.
My mother wanted this Scottie pup so bad that my sister flew to Montana and brought her back her name is Mattie 2 thousand dollars and a champion line , my mother was 80 years old and my stepdad was 81 years and never ever give a pup to elderly , she didn’t nurture it and train it dad didn’t walk her she walked him and they didn’t intermix with other dogs so she didn’t know how to interact very sad for Mattie since then mom passed away and Mattie is left with a now 83 year old man sitting on a small porch all day wish I could do something but not in a position to do so. Such a shame. Pray for her.
You use positive reinforcement. You need to reward them when they do the right thing rather than scolding them when they do the wrong thing. Dogs don’t learn from being scolded. They don’t even know what they’ve done wrong. All they see is that their owner is angry and it makes them anxious. They aren’t like humans the way we can think back about things and contemplate our mistakes. If a dog poops on your carpet and you scold him he isn’t going to relate the two events and learn from it.
@@Algorhythmical yes they do, Dogs don't want to poo & wee inside. Puppies are just doing their best & need teaching. Dogs definitely know not to go to the toilet where they sleep & eat!
my scottish terrier is soo funny she likes dominate our other male dogs like when they are eating she sticks her head inside of their bowl and they back away with a bad expression on their face lol

My scottie is too smart for his own good. We call him a master escape artist. That being said, I've never had such a loyal dog before.
Great looking dog

Once you bond with a scottie no other dog will do. Sorry about Max. Hands down the best breed out there
I’m pretty sure this is our next pup.

Mine lived over 18 years. He was smart. I never scolded or punished him. He was no trouble. I hardly ever see this breed:(

Saw one of these today & he had a long, classic cut coat. My Dog thought he was "hovering" across the grass & thought he had seen a ghost 🤣
Beautiful dogs, but stripping is the standard and better for the dog's health and comfort--shaving, shearing is kinda bad. Awesome video!
Yo quiero una, tuve una que compartió 13 años conmigo. Ame a mi negrita Hysha. 🐾
Love a lot, the die hard ones!!! 😘😘😘🔥🔥🔥

Easily the most distinguished looking dog out there, yesshhhh very classy indeed...
My Scottish terrier is my faith ful friiend
Any recommendation for a harness (30 lb 3 year old Scottie)? Thanks
I want 1
Got a long leg Jack Russell but a Scottie would be geeat🏴
Lovely video. With the sensitivity how do you potty train them not to pee in the house-- without a bit of scolding when they make mistakes?

Just say "No!" & direct the Dog outside, if it's a number two take it out with him so he gets the message clearly

We have a 5 year old Scotty who continues to urinate in the house. Is it too late to housebreak him?
Beware! Stubborn as hell and will not bend their will. But a loving dog. If you want a compliant animal this is not the dog for you.
