I have been listening to this song since I was in the kindergarden, and I always thought this song was US folksong. It‘s the first time for me to know it is from Peru.
a super brief translation from the description box: they played this song to celebrate today, 11/2/2021, the 50th anniversary of China-Peru diplomatic relation. Also this year is the 200th year of the independence of Peru. they used cajón and rainstick from latin america, shaman drum from north asia, bansuri from south asia, and Xun, Guqin, Gu Ruan from china, to play this piece.
I had to go back to see the Xun; missed it the first time and wondered why it wasn't included- since the Andean Indians have a very similar instrument of their own. I think there's a very great chance the Andeans brought their entire set of musical instruments; ocarina, panpipes, both flutes, etc- WITH them; from Asia. Just a few years back. :-)

Unbelievable. I went old with this song. Because I used to listen to my father's old mix tapes. My father was a hardcore rocker of his time. And this song was on those tapes too. It is very enjoyable to listen to this way. And we were the last generation to make mixtapes. It was good times. Thanks.

A beautiful rendition of El Cóndor Pasa. 👍 As a side note, Han Chinese people, along with the Tibetans and the Yeniseians, actually shared very recent common ancestors with many Native American tribes. Many linguistic studies have found that the language families of these peoples are genetically related.
I'm really surprised how these Native Americans knew this. In 1910, the Qing government of China sent Ouyang Geng (1858-1941) as the special envoy to Mexico to deal with the case of "311 overseas Chinese were killed during the Mexican Revolution in 1908". One day, more than one hundred American Indian of the Yin Fubu ethnic group (INFUBU) living in 17 areas of Chihuahua, Mexico, surrounded the Qing government’s embassy in Mexico and petitioned: "During the Mexican Revolution, 750 American Indian were killed. Name, these American Indian all say they are of Chinese descent, the descendants of the Yin people, called the "Yin Fubu" tribe, came here from China 3,000 years ago via the paradise pontoon, and asked the Qing government to help them claim compensation." I remember I was really surprised when I read this record 20 years ago, because there really was a Yin Dynasty in China more than 3,000 years ago. How did the American Indian pass it down for thousands of years?
