No what happened was Cardi wasn’t originally on the song. Nicki was always on the song from the beginning. Quavo asked Nicki if it’s cool if Cardi gets on it. Nicki said of course. In Nicki’s original verse, instead of saying Quavo’s name, she said “If Cardi the QB, I’m Nick Lombardi” & she also had some singing parts. Quavo asked Nicki to take out the singing parts & Cardi told her label to tell Nicki to remove her name out of her verse because she felt Nicki was dissing her. So therefore Nicki changed her verse. But when Cardi did an interview right after the song came out, she told the interviewer that Nicki changed her verse in a really negative tone. Cardi tried to imply to the world that Nicki was “intimidated” by her being on the song so she changed her verse to “outdo” her. But she failed to mention that Nicki only changed her verse because she was ASKED TO by Cardi & Quavo. There was no reason for her to even mention that in the interview at all. After that, Nicki started getting a bunch of hate, & neither Migos nor Cardi publicly cleared it up & just let everyone attack Nicki. That’s where all the drama started.
