We don't even begin to understand and appreciate what is involved in getting corn and potatoes to our plates.
These videos help to explain so much.

No wonder Shane can do magic with machinery he’s been working with tools since he was two years old. He would come to my house and say (Aunt Bunny) do you have a radio or any I can pull apart and put back together. He was such a cutie and still is.. so proud of this young man..

As a farmer you have to be very handy with a wrench. I remember the farmer I worked for when I was in my early teens . Every winter we would take one of the machines or tractors apart that had some issues during the summer/ fall. He was so good at repairing them I learned a lot .

Never stops to amaze me how talented good farmers are. The pressure thats on them to put fresh corn in the grocery store.

Some of the most fun friends can have together is fixing things yourself. I remember working on cars with my high school buddies, nothing major, just swapping brake shoes, rotating tires or changing oil really made us feel like we knew what we were doing.

I was a heavy equipment mechanic for about 15 years of my life. I know you own this stuff, so you don't really get a choice, but watching these last 2 videos has reaffirmed why I started running the equipment rather than working on it. Crawling around on your hands and knees, covered in an even mixture of dirt, hydraulic fluid, and blood, cussing, fighting... I'm glad you're doing it! I'm more than happy to watch!

Totally agree. While I was watching these last two videos I was thinking that there's no way I could be crawling around under there like Shane was. My legs and feet certainly couldn't contort like his were. Uh uh.

It is great to see a couple of knowledgable, skillful workers able to put things to right. Industrial farming needing people who can keep the machinery going; a lot cheaper than having some pros come in to do the work or buying a replacement machine.

Pixall corn picker. Boy that brings back memories of picking sweet corn here in WI for the canning factories. Good to see you have a parts machine now. Maybe Tim can replicate the spline shaft using the old one. So you have a spare. Shane might have to take a few notes from Tim and have a couple pairs of coveralls to wear. LOL. Keep posting videos. Really enjoy them.

Reminds me when I put a new clutch into my 64 GMC Handivan over Christmas break in Dads garage with only a kerosene heater for warmth. Now can we finally get to see some corn picken or what. Great work Shane, wrenching and vloging. 😊

I'm 61 taught my children to be independent too but when you need help ask for it but give back when you need to, My 25 year old daughter is independent fixes most things around the house or on her car, very proud of her and the boys. ABOVE DONT BE AFRAID TO TRY FIXING IT YOUR SELF OR FIGURING OUT HOW.
