You know I figured HBO would have learned after the catastrophe that was the ending of GoT but I guess not. I really hope they don't do the same with Dunk and Egg.

The strength and weakness of HBO is that they let their creatives do what they want. So unlike other networks, they try not to impose arbitrary restrictions on what a show can or cannot do. But that can be a double-edged sword. If those same creatives are making questionable decisions, HBO will assume they know what's best and not interfere.

A really powerful move in all these cases of famous artists facing justice would be to remove their royalties rights and give them to the appropriate sector (in this case shelter for abused women or whatever). If found guilty, I don't see the point of throwing him in jail now (except if he continues his behaviour of course, you need to protect people), that would be taxpayer money used for nothing, but stripping him from his rights on his creation would be a perfect compensation, and we could continue enjoying content based on his creation guilt free, knowing he wouldn't get richer from it.

Oh my god, I stared at this for 10 full seconds before I got the joke. Foggy-headed morning here. But funny!

I think HBO has done a terrific job adapting what essentially is NOT a naturally dramatic work. The original is a sprawling, schematic "history" told by a number of unreliable narrators. HBO had to choose to limit characters and scope (money is not unlimited and shareholders want their financial return - it's both business and art after all) and create a focus on a centralized conflict. That makes good TV. Is every adapting decision perfect? No. But overall they've done an excellent job.

I think with GOT D&D seemed to be at least more honest with him even though he might not of agreed with everything. He also said he gave them endings for many of the main beats. He also left them with an unfinished story with the last two books adding so many new characters and plots all half finished that over a decade later he can't even finish. He also probably likes some if it and GOT overall seems to just be better received by most critics and fans.

You guys are completely wrong on J K Rowling, she does not hate Trans people, she is not a bigot, she is standing up for women's rights. You guys are really uninformed; shame on you. Not watching you again because of your ignorance.

True. She stood up for women's rights but she's apparently also an Israeli apologist.

I think JK is ultimately a tragedy (much like the Martina Navratilova situation). JK was focused on protecting abused women. When attacked - she revealed her own abuse history, and nobody cared. So now she's doubling down and not listening to critics. (despite her bad science and stats). Wish people could patiently remind her that biology is never simply binary (and that denying any human their sense of self/identity is awful). I think throwing hate at her got her to throw hate back, and now everything is worse.

The irony of you lecturing others on ignorance. As for her standing up for women's rights, you are so right...if you're not trans, a trans ally, a trans parent, or just a decent human being who doesn't acted like a bigoted loser. In other words, she only stands up for women exactly.like.her...terfs. Oh and I'm also sure these guys are now weeping uncontrollably, because you won't watch them again. Oh, and of course, you're a guy.
