This is the Nick we needed in his second match against Lawler. I think that if this Nick showed up in the second Lawler fight the outcome would have been different.
Nick Diaz went 5 rounds with the greatest off all time at 185- and he was never in true danger of close to being finished- that says a lot about the skill of Nick Diaz. That said- that takes nothing from Anderson- the man was an incredible fighter, even far past his prime.
Man I almost teared up when Nick helped him get back to his feet and told him not to cry. That was respect right there. Shame about what came out after the fight though in terms of the PED allegations which kinda ruined it.
Both great fighters, I miss Anderson Silva so much, definitely the reason I am an MMA/UFC fan to this day. Cocky but good, but his Respect and love in the octagon is what sticks with me🕷️💙 Grats to Diaz to such a talent aswell. Never gonna forget watching Silva's last UFC fight I still tear up
Just amazes me that Nick can get completely out classed inside the Octagon to the point that everyone watching can see he is out of his league and still in the end think he got robbed of a victory.
@@jh986 Nick could have been using as well who the hell knows. What we do know for sure is that Nick tended to get dog walked around the octagon for 15-25 minutes and still expected his hand to get raised at the end lol.

DC loved nicks response to the question @1:32 speciically when he just says a fights a fight and we are just gonna have to have a fight at 185 pounds or w/e haha
Seeing how Robbie ran through nick at 185 compared to this is crazy. But he was off for 6 years, so obviously that’s going to happen. Nick Diaz was robbed of his fighting years. He could have had so many more legendary fights.
Love how Nick was trying to get Silva to throw more and get in his range by the taunts, Nick is a very fight savvy. At least he tried though, like he said St.Pierre was to scared to fight Silva lol. Didn’t nick have an elbow injury that hindered him throwing his jab? I remembered him saying when he extended his arm it would lock and he couldn’t pull it back in, but he didn’t pull out he just said fuck it.
Lol GSP wasn’t scared of Silva. By the time GSP came back, Silva had only won 1 of his last 6 fights, and got popped for steroids, which GSP was a very vocal opponent of. Why would he have fought a roided up, washed up bum like Silva when he could fight for a title? And don’t forget he beat Bisping, who Silva couldn’t.
