Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we Feature this 2012 FPV GS ute! this is basically 100% stock besides having a tune out on.. from factory they made 315kw or 425hp.. now with a tune! THATS IT! 418kw! or 560hp!!! how insane is that out of the 5.0L Supercharged Miami engine..

My dad had this same Ute but a 2014 and he absolutely loved it and that whine is addictive too bad he sold it before I got my learners

I think I have finally found a proper sports car/falcon I'm very happy with. In manual of course and has had the tune so making 388kw.
84,000km and asking price is below market value so I think I've scored myself a great deal🥰
Jesus Christ so that's what 520 horse power feels like. What a weapon very happy man I am. Was definitely worth the coin.
Finally apart of the FPV club/quick sport car club waiting years for this. Ahhh still doesn't feel real 😭😅.

Great review of bloody nice ute Jono! I saw a GS sedan in a car park yesterday and the thing was absolutely rotten like it hadn't been washed for months with so scratches and dents, such a shame people don't appreciate nice cars!

GS have risen so much in price. Remember seeing them for around the 20-35k mark few years ago and now they’re average price is like 55k and some even fetching 60k. More people are seeing how good they are now especially the Miami over 5.4 Boss

@@turbotheamericanstaffy Oh yeah definitely but the GS has gone up in price by so much more than the other “mainstream” Falcons and Commodores. Almost dropped my phone when I first searched up the prices
@@mills3375 they can ask for that price, doesn't mean they'll get it. You would have to be crazy to pay that much for one. If everyone calms down and holds off, the prices will come back to reality, and that's for all cars.

The GS are nice the only thing I dislike is it didn't get the bucket seats like a pursuit to really give it that FPV feel. Its all about the engine though, what a beast it has under the hood!!
Yeh the seats are super basic.. but you buy this souly for that engine 🤤🤤🤤

Please tell me old mate increased the exhaust size. The utes have a smaller cat back system and dont make the same as a stock sedan.
There's another 30 or 40rwkw in it when these get a 2.5 or even 3inch catback.
Then you get a bit more when you disable the bimodel system, lets you really hear the crackles from the unburnt fuel since from factory the injectors dont disable off throttle as fast as a barra does. Yes wastes fuel but man it sounds amazing.
And tell him to get some new boots while he's at it haha, re003's hook up like no tomorrow with these.
I love the black on the fg tho, second favourite to my nitro blue GS.
Still stock exhaust.. could use a aftermarket one I told him.. would make a big difference 👌

Great ride! I have used those double sided sticky things from those removable 3M hooks. One strip on each side, works a treat on my F6 👍

Performance utes used to be known as the poor mans coupe. 2 doors but all the go.
I don’t call my Ute a Ute, I call it a coupe with a big boot 😂😂

They are FPV silver argent wheels very hard to find on the market 19x8 they are not staggered
You can only find them second hand for sale.
FPV used them on the BF2 to FG 2012.
Anyone advertising these for sale brand new or in staggered fit are fake copies

6:43 you mention this is not far off an XR8 money wise, but the FG MkII never had an XR8 model, so you could consider the GS an XR8

Its the opposite of the barra. Its a v8 and no turbo. So its fun
My guess is not a lot of any gain for dollars expended....and...what does "Stock" actually entail?
We shall find out shortly I AM SURE.
It’s a weapon!! I was very impressed
They do have an overboost feature stock but dont know tuned as they might have robbed the ram for the tune
All the stock overboost does is apply more boost from the stock number of like 4.5 and 6. Over boost brings it up to about 9 in sub par weather and 10 in perfect weather.
Now a tune completely unlocks the boost and depending on IAT, it should give you 10 mostly whenever you rev past 4.5k.
All miami 1.9 chargers are capable of reaching these numbers from stock but its just the factory tunes that keep it hidden.

@@RossReviewsau I have seen one Recording of one that’s it. I wanna Cam my FG GT but apparently you don’t need to because it’s already cammed it’s just the exhaust and ECU tune. Idk 🤷♂️
The power bulge is awesome until you take it out in summer and the sun reflects straight into your eyes lol... hence the FGX don't have it anymore

my old XR8 would sometimes do it.. but was not to bad prob helped my paint was old n getting dull lol..

Unless the dash mat is pinned or taped to the dashboard, it really is a hazard to drive with, bordering “dangerous” with the so much power coming out of that tuned engine.

Yep, totally agree, my Old bf xr6 turbo would throw the dash mat into my lap all the time until I finally got of my ass to stick it down lol

@@RossReviewsau yeah, I can't imagine why he hasn't already installed them. I had a Mini as my first car, and it hooked me on going round corners fast. I remember breaking an XA Cobra driver's heart on a windy section of road that I knew well.

It's the tune that brings them alive in the upper rev range and most likely makes peak power around 6800rpm

Yeah and after a tune, in good weather and no timing taken out, these things smack the limiter in 1st faster than the speed of light haha
