Beautiful bookmark. I have crocheted many from old books that I still have. Also I have done several with tatting. For Christmas I crocheted 30 of your Christmas trees and gave away to lots of people. They all loved them! Thank you!😊❤
What a lovely video. You combined my two favorite things, crochet and reading. I have a mini hank of a fingering merino and nylon yarn that was searching for a project. I think a shorter one for paperbacks and a longer one for hardbacks is in order. Thanks so much for the project idea.
These would be wonderful lacy bookmarks for my classic novels. Love the look of them and I think they are rather tactile. Thank you very much for the lovely tutorial. And your mother's book is indeed a treasure ❤ old books feel very special and memorable 🎉
I, too, had pattern books like that in the '60's-70's. 🤗 Great way to learn tension by the repeating patterns. This bookmark is sweet...love the little picots . I have some lamp work beads that would be pretty just at the top of the tassels to add a little weight to the tail 😘 Thanks for the nice tutorial. 🤗

Happy Saturday 🤗 Those bookmarks are amazing. I read physical books, I know with my arthritis I’d never be able to make one. But I love see what you make. Have a wonderful week 🥰
I enjoy making bookmarks for friends and family but I make mine using lace bobbins. I had not thought of using crochet to make them. Thank you, I will certainly give it a try.
I liked this before seeing it! I love reading real books (I do have a Kindle and appreciate it for its practicality) and can't wait to see this tutorial! Happy New Year to you Tuula Maaria.
Tuula, I am struggling to crochet a baby blanket using 6 weight yarn. I’ve missed the birth of two babies and it doesn’t look good for the third. Is there anything I should know about working with heavy yarn? It’s all single crochets, baby blanket yarn and stripes in three colors. colors. I looked on your site and found several I must watch before I proceed but nothing on 6 weight. (Would 5 be easier? Should I throw out the yarn? It’s tangled anyway. (The book marks are pretty enough to frame.)
True, I don't have content based on yarn weights and also I don't know yarn weights by number but fingering, DK, aran, chunky etc like in Ravelry. But in working any stitch with very chunky yarn the main thing is that your hook goes with that yarn. Single crochets make a very stiff blanket for a baby so instead of changing the yarn I would change the stitch to something softer.
As you’ve said about other things, do what you’re comfortable with. I don’t care for the look of super bulky yarn. Hence nothing looks right. Many thanks.❤️
Beautiful bookmark

Thank you! True, adding beads would be a great idea!
What is a picot?
@@beckasmith6725 I don't think there is another name for it - used a lot especially in lace crochet, 2-4 chains cramped into t a ball!
