It's the opposite way round for me. My dad doesn't really do tech, so whenever I get a new phone, I give him my old one and teach him how to use it. He's been happy every time so far, helps that I take good care of them so there's no scratches or cracks on them.

I did think he was at least upper level hobbyist on hardware and just struggling with nerves, toddlers, morph suits, and what we all go though when doing a next generation build -until he talked about ram order😅 That being said, content-wise this was absolute peak! The RAM order is a real thing with some crappy UEFI firmware; it won't boot up with all four sticks in, so take two out, boot it, perform an UEFI update, power it down, insert sticks #1 and #3 again, boots.

I built mine for the first time last week. I watched tons of PC building guides for a month before i started, so mine turned out pretty good. The cable management tho..... I gave up.

Tip: That power supply comes with the 12VHPWR gpu cable. You don’t need the adapter that came with the gpu. The appropriate power cable for that gpu is in the box.
I feel Vedal's pain, I've built and manhandled dozens of servers, but when it came time to build my first computer earlier this year it was a nightmare.
@@Darthmufin no, there definitely are issues. if he has dust filters, then they will become useless. and even if there aren't, having the fans on the outside would fuck up the airflow. and that's assuming the screws are long enough to allow you to put the fans on the outside in the first place
@@Aestareth_ The screws simply would be reversed, instead of screwing them from the outside, you screw them from the inside instead. There is no downside, in fact it would be even easier to clean them
anonymity concerns are understanding but the morph suit was an impressively bad idea. even if you have no contact with carpet, the fabric is rubbing together between your fingers and against your skin.
With radiator systems, I leave the CPU without cooler until the cooler is mounted and make sure I DO NOT attach the main power cable to the motherboard until it's installed. Usually you need to pop the front cover off the case and mount the fans just behind the cover and the radiator on the other side of the sheet metal. I used to have my gaming rig in a micro atx until I got a 4090 and needed to upgrade. Since the robot apocalypse I'm now upgrading to full local AI capability....
To the people who were complaining about British plugs at least ours actually stay plugged in its not our fault that you accidentally stepped on one and probably died British plugs are one of the few actually good things to come from the UK and that i will actually defend

Ripped graphics card case that was already opened? Oh no. I don't want to be the alarmist here but, that's not a good sign. If this was new and not second hand, it's probably okay but I would still check that you have 24gb vram and that your Core, is a 4090 Core and not some reballed 4070 Core or lower. If it's second hand, definitely check it for sure. It's happened to people before. Could have been done during shipping or, by the seller directly if it's not a reputable vendor. It might just be nothing, and I'm overreacting.

It was quite entertaining to see him choose not to read any manuals and then repeatedly raise questions that the manuals answer in unambiguous detail. Another nice touch was “I'm not sure if it'll fit in the case”, as if measurements can't be checked beforehand. 10/10 would anxiously sit through again
Considering i used to work in a place where we worked with mother boards, batteries and terminals. ESD is actually something i'm not surprised someone like Vedal was aware about and worried about. ESD basically in easy to say terms is The static eletricty formed either by your hair, clothes or your feet when moving against the floor. There are ESD suits out there but considering Vedal wanted to use his Morph suit what he could of done is two things. He could apply some ESD straps to his feet attaching the cords around the inside of his leg (basically under his socks/suit) which could help reduce any ESD his feet/bottom of the Morph suit would be causing. And he could attack similar straps to his wrist and connect the ends of the straps to his desk or something similar to help "ground" him so that it helps discharge and keep any static from forming.
She's actually rather intelligent. I have built a few computers wearing nothing but my underwear since it means I have next to no fabric to make static and lots of skin to metal contact for grounding.
I think it'd be cool if when ever neuro makes a claim she posts her resource for that claim from her memory. just to show she is remembering and not randomly making stuff up.
