Even here at the "other side of the world" in germany, we know and love the music of "Australias KING OF COUNTRY". And believe me mates..... We miss him as well!!! Give it a go Slim and let the angels have a good time while singing along with you... 👍👍🎼
I met a old Aboriginal man at Halls Creek in W.A an he showed me a song it was called 'Slim Dusty Your Still The King of Country' Bloody go tribute to the Legend.
From the USA. I just recently discovered Slim Susty's music. He has rapidly become one of my favorite singers/musicians. I was sorry to discover he has passed. He was a treasure.
Every time I listen to Slim I think of my childhood on a dairy farm on the north coast of NSW, listening to his songs as we milked the cows. I have lived in the city now for the past fifty years but I still listen to Slims's songs and dream of those days gone by.
From the USA...Great song! I just recently experienced Slim Dusty's music. He was indeed a great musician, and the world is much poorer for his passing. God bless him. Thank you for posting this.
+minecraft67676 How do you know? Have you done a survey ... like have you gone around and had a large percentage from all over the country USA answer the question 'are you nice'? ?????
When ANY other performer reaches 106 albums IN THEIR LIFETIME then I'll agree that they can be compared to Slim Dusty. Until then - don't even consider it!
From the STATES. Slim always brought the twang into music . I love that . That's country! In any country! Americans think the twang is uncool. If there's no twangy acoustic guitar it's something else not country .thanks for the listening pleasure!
As a Texan I love my Brothers down under. We are very similar in culture and speech and how others look at us. Also it’s funny I found about this artist because I was watching Wolf Creek; who knew Australian horror movies will bring me to a new music style
Actually after all this time I should mention that my two sons were there, and we were eight around the campfire. We had driven a long way, and by chance went to that campground. The people there told us that we should go, but they didn't give any clues. We were still new Australians, but we knew that this was extraordinarily special. We saw him go on to do the Olympics, and spread the word to a multitude. But to me Slim epitomised a special night in the outback with just a few mates. I will always remember the blazing fire, the cloudless night, and the night sky, and a genius making his peace with the country.
