  • More record finds from local estate sales including the highlights from a large lot I purchased at a sale I wasn't originally going to that day. Great rock & roll, blues, R&B, soul, jazz, rockabilly, and country records in this video.

The Bill Haley will go in a 78 jukebox if I ever get one. All my jukes are currently 45 with one CD model.

    Hi Mike
I don't collect 78s but your videos are so cool to watch. Its amazing how many 78s are in nice shape. When I see 78s they are beat to heck! Thumbs up! Trish

Most of the 78s I run across are destroyed. It's nice to find such great records in this condition. You have to just keep looking. They're out there!

Thanks for sharing Mike, I personally collect 45s and I am a subscriber of yours and I must say those 78s you showcased are awesome especially the record album featuring Leadbelly.
Forgive me for being a little sentimental, sometimes after watching your videos I go and dig out a 45 I have called “City of Angels” by The Highlights on the BALLY
label knowing where you are from and play it,
    It’s one of my favourites
    Thanks again Mike.

I found an autographed Charlie Daniels Band record. Also found a George Harrison (All Things Must Pass) 3 record box set with the poster. I bought it for $1.99 at the thrift store.

Hi Mike, nice to look and listen at your video's, especially when it concerns 78's.
I hear you talk about label names en sometimes in combination with the colour it is (physically).
Can you explain what the colour has to do with the label and the record?
Thanx in advance for your reaction.
Greets from the Netherlands by Paul
PS: you also uses the abbreviation R&B. Do you mean rhythm and blues by that?

Some record labels used different colors, often to make it easier to identify genres. Columbia 78s had a red label and they put out a bunch of common stuff. I always say to check those red labels since rare blues 78s can also be found on Columbia.

I am a new subscriber and really dig what you showing today. I don't really collect any 78's but I do have some. I am trying get more blues vinyl and now I'm thinking I will have some luck finding some blues and r&b on 78's. What do you think?
And have never seen a jukebox that plays 78's. How difficult are they to find?

Thanks for watching. I used to think this stuff was impossible to find, but obviously it's still out there. Jukebox manufacturers switched from 78 to 45 machines in the late forties/early fifties. They're out there, but not as common as later jukes.

Married with Children was created by a black comedy writer with the intention of a black family instead of what would be the Bundy family who was white. Jimmie Walker mentioned this in a UA-cam video.

WHY NOT TAKE THE TIME TO PLAY YOUR 78 COLLECTION???????????

I've put a few that clear UA-cam copyright on here, but many will flag.
