I didn't notice problems with the audio. You sounded fine to me. I did get the giggles when you were videoing the first floor of the green berets remodeling area with bunk beds. Your camera angle went on an excursion. I thought it was good fun to include that. :o)
@@lynderherberts2828 I'm not nearly as good at it as my compatriot lol. A WIP. I guess I notice the small sound issues in editing, but often they big for people. Some "pp" sounds on the mic, and rough cuts etc.
@@DesertifyUrbex Actually, I enjoy hearing you two making comments and decisions about where to go, not go, and what to film. Also, my compliments to your high standards and rules for exploration. I liked Broken Window Theory, who enter many European deserted homes where all the property has been left behind. Basically, these places are time capsules. Or are they entering winter or summer homes while the families are away? How could so many European families just happen to disappear but secure their homes as if they expect to return? However, these 3 young German men do not have honorable character and standards like you. I believe they use lock picks to illegally enter most of these estates. They have been caught by police and secrurity guards, I hate it when they pick up photos (and other things) and toss them aside. I have even seen one of these guys plop himself down on a kitchen chair and break it, and then laugh about it . They are shameless and profiling from their videos. They have certainly upgraded their vehicle and camera equipment - which is expected as income increases. I had watched the progressive decline of respect and increase in brashness. SMH I don't watch them anymore.

Broken Window Theory, Dan Bell, and to a lesser extent The Proper People (who sadly list location names) are some good examples of popular channels with character in the community. That said I haven't watched the newest ones by Broken Window. The "family vanished" story, is a cop-out usually to make a place seem mysterious when the actual story is known by the explorer. You won't find us faking, trashing, a place, or giving out a place. I think it's hypocritical to espouse care for a building and then expose it to danger. The largest channels tend to be the worst, and I've avoided some offers of exploring with a few. That said, this isn't a career, but a passion project and I think some have gotten lost in the money train.

I was harassed by a BWT guy last year for calling them out on dishonesty (in the video I had just watched) and for breaking a chair (in an earlier video). The man was hostile about the broken chair incident. After about a week of the harassment, I had to "mute" the guy because he wouldn't stop. I quit watching their videos, and removed all their videos from my Abandoned Places playlist on my other channel. Have a good evening and rest of the week.
Wonderful video. I truly appreciate well presented history documentaries that love Maine and New England history as much as I do. I am simply amazed that this intriguing part of our Maine is not maintained and / or protected. Truly sad. Again, thank you and keep up the fantastic work.

A remarkable and beautiful location. The fact that the main chalet is so well preserved after all this time shows the quality of the craftsmen that built it.
It really does. The one it was built after also is in remarkable shape. I heard bears lived in this for a while, which also makes it suprising it's in good shape...

It's so peceful, and does not look like vandals have visited it either. It has been a wonderful place when the trees around it were not so tall or even existed! The bedroom with the bed with a partition down the middle, caught my attention, and it just seems so odd, in a place like this. It looks like we humans tend to judge others by their pasts, or how they look, and sadly this is how they are remembered after they have gone. Anyone eccentric with a tendency to shy away from others, makes their fellow humans, invent some usually dreadful story about them. There are perhaps some animals who have this leaning, but I'm scratching my head, trying to think of one that stands out to me in memory? The entire structure looks like it will not last a lot longer, but the fireplace is likely to stand for some time, being of a stronger construction with stone, and the wood will be reclaimed quickly! I seem to have missed this video when it was first shown, but my Fb has been dreadful lately, taking away photos etc. etc. with no reasons given! Well done both, and I am glad that you are back doing this work again, and giving me pleasure watching them. Thankyou. ...old Tich.

It's very out of the way, in a place with rough winters, so a limited demographic, woudl likely want to live there. His legacy is sad, and I suppose most Christian saints too were ignored until well after their deaths.

What an amazing historical place and a very beautiful area for it to be built, I was very surprised that you didn't try to find his final resting place with that big memorial plaque though. A good question. I was pretty injured still, and getting there used up what I had left in me. I still have no idea where the grave is, though I understand it's nearish, but will hidden away and overgrown now sadly.

A very interesting story as usual, loved listening too it, the house tho was not what i expected, i felt cold and uninviting too me, it does not compare to the cabins i saw in Switzerland and Austria, a friend of us is a member of the Bahia, moved too the west years ago and never heard from her again.
I supose that isn't surprising. Most Baha'i are now in Africa and South America apparently. The Middle East and parts of the old world seem like areas they may avoid due to the long past there. I am guessing the chalets in Europe are more inviting as they've been more lived in and loved. It was phyiscally a bit cold there and pretty stark. I imagine in Winter it might have been freezing, though I heard he had a very ahead of its time heating system. You can see the floor grates in some shots. I stayed in a Chalet once, and it was an interesting experience. Not sure I'd want to live in one though!
I remember in Catholic school the priest talking about this faith ,he talked about it kindly .and I remember my parents talking about it they knew a medical professional that was of this faith as my mother was in medicine also . great video 🖖🏼👍🏼🏍

Haha! Tha reminds me of my first abandoned house I explored when I was maybe six or seven. An old cabin in the woods with epees crossed on the walls that I would whip around. Crazily the chandelier seemed to have a huge shell attached to it, that's now gone as well.
I wish I could afford to by that beautiful old thing and just hand the checkbook over to the crew and tell them to fix her. Obviously built to last, and she has. She seems so very lonely though, up there on that mountain.
Now fast forward to 2020 and replace all Nazi spy references with Russian spy references lol. Nothing changes and true life is still stranger than fiction. Great work man

Ew! Blown to pieces in front of a crowd. Ick! There had to be splatter matter. Psychological peril to control people. (I'm grimacing just thinking about it.) One of my college majors was Religion. I learned about the Bhai in one of my courses. The class didn't cover the brutality side of religions. I remember Bhai was in the list of cults separated from the list of world religions and list of occults. I always appreciate your provision of so many details plus the visuals of the people and places. Kudos!
Very cool. Not many study them. A friend of mine got even more interested and was going to study them at s temple. I understand modem North Korea also uses this cannon/artillery execution. All show, as a might makes right type of approach. It's amazing what people do to others.
@@DesertifyUrbex Do you remember the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movie where the warring natives would execute their victims/enemies by tying each foot to a tree to rip them in half? I thought that was bad until I learned of hung, drawn, and quartered. When I was studying Norse history and warfare a few years ago, their blood eagle torture became the worst thing I'd ever heard of. What kills me is how men can be so malicious and cruel in war, yet go home and be loving husband and father and pick back up with the farming. SMH
That is one neat thing I noticed as well. A friend was more interested in them and it was a big thing to be allowed to observe and join them in their routines at a temple. Private, understandably so.
