- Heading down to the Ash Heap for this week's Fallout 76 Camp build. I've wanted to use the Wildwood Den again for a while so we built up a scrappy, wrap-around structure to change the shape and make things a bit more unique!

I LOVE scrappy builds like this - especially when they're not closed-in buildings with open areas to the outside bc it feels so much more realistic and like the structures in-game. I always try to make cool techy/BOS type builds but I never like them lol scrappy raidery builds are where its at!!!
I’m not a huge fallout player but a real estate agent and love seeing your builds.
Great build. I love those moments when the FO76 building system stop fighting you and the piece that you want actually snaps into place. Most of the time it feels like you need to use a glitch technique to place basic parts.

Darth, mate. THIS CAMP IS INCREDIBLE! It’s got the perfect level of scrappyness to it. It’s colourful yet wastelandly the structure is amazing and lighting looks great. The location suits this one massively. And a Ally. Always a good part in my book if you can fit one into a build. 10/10.

You certainly have a lot of patience. Another brilliant build, looks fantastic.
Surprisingly apart from messing about with the foundations at the start, there wasn't actually all that much patience required. Once the ball was rolling it went quite well. Definitely got lucky there!
This is a great scrappy build. Blending the Wildwood Den in with the other structure turned out really good. Love the way you do the junk fence perimeters. Thanks for sharing.
Found you doing the waterfall build, so beautiful. Love this build too. Scrappy builds are my fave but going to try a waterfall build next.. I have been inspired :)

Great idea how to build around the den, I'll have to try and do something similar with the airplane prefab. Cool tip on how to elevate the airplane generator too.
The flying fortress is a cool prefab to build wth. I just got done doing a build with it. A couple of things to take note on. 1) some of the walls are a bit finnicky, the game will tell you your wall item has no support. Just try moving it a few inches in any direction and you can typically find a "supported" spot. 2) taller floor objects like to pop up to the ceiling in spots. I just put them on a small rug and problem solved.

Settlement and camp building is the think that has kept me playing crazy amounts of fallout over the last few years. ☺️ It may also be the reason I only managed to finish FO4 once 😂
It takes a special person to build in Fallout , really have to enjoy punishing yourself 😂kudos on this build btw be looking for the next one !

I’m pretty sure many of your (non) snapping issues would have been solved by using the flamethrower to break the den as you were building around it.
I thought the same thing. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to make much difference with the den. 😕

I know it’s Bethesda but I’m surprised they didn’t allow the “place everywhere” ability of settlement items, as per the FO4 mod. Still looks a little annoying trying to make things fit when they should just let them snap in more easily
My theory on the place anywhere thing is that it has to do with the blueprint system. I would imagine the game needs pretty exact info to be able to rebuild your camp at a new location.

Great build but sadly I was taking a break from the game when the den was in the shop so I wasn't able to get it
I'm pretty sure it'll come back around. ☺️ Just keep an eye on those Tuesday Atomic Shop updates.
Also, I absolutely loath when things turn blue and the game still says "nope."
I wonder if at around the 7 minute mark if you could've destroyed the den with the flame thrower and then get your wall in?
Possibly. It didn't help with putting floors above it though so idk. 🤔
@@DarthXionGames if it didn't help with the floors, it probably wouldn't have helped for the walls either. Either way, it turned out awesome, I love watching you build!
Cool idea! Doesn't it seem like you can tell that different developers created different assets? There's one kind of dev who makes it easy to snap things where you want them, and another kind who puts huge hit boxes around stuff so you can't stick it anywhere!

Who's the ally? I don't have the chain link fences had to Who song that got almost everything else right don't have that chem station.
just a quick question, is it easier to build on PC rather than console, in your opinion??
Most things are fairly similar tbh. The mouse makes placing things accurately a bit easier. Some of the keyboard controls are a bit odd, which is probably unavoidable but can be slightly awkward when navigating menus. It's still faster than a controller though.
When it comes to recording a tour, I always use a controller; it's less sensitive which makes for smoother movement, where the mouse picks up every little vibration and shake and it shows on screen. You don't notice when you're running about, but when you're moving slowly it's pretty obvious.
@@DarthXionGames I would imagine sinking/raising foundations etc is so much easier on a mouse wheel? it can be so fiddly on console, same as changing angles ..
Spinning foundations or anything else tbh around is not great with a mouse. They tend to spin about 45 degrees every time. Raising and lowering is probably a bit easier. I tend to have my mouse wheel set to click/step so they move a constant distance each time, which can be good or bad really, depending on what you want. I should try it with the ratchet off sometime.
