    Just another small point in English (UK) we say that eating in means eating in AT HOME and eating out means at a restaurant

    If you say "pretty girl" in English when greeting someone it might be offensive rather than being seen as a complement or respectful such as "ma'am"

    Thank you very much for what you are doing! Good learning Cantonese resources are very scarce!
    On a side note, I wish people in HK spoke Cantonese as clearly as you! 😭
    Btw, speaking of the vocab: as far as I understand, in Hong Kong, "菜單" means is a list of things you ordered, not the menu, and the restaurant menu is "餐牌" or "菜牌".

      For me I want to see a day to day everyday situation like meeting with your friends, inviting them to eat or play a basketball game. Talking to their parents when invited in their house such as birthdays. Can you recommend any cantonese singers/songs that are popular in recent years? I am currently listening to keung to, pakho, GEM, joey yung (maybe those pure cantonese singer, I like GEM but she has songs that in mandarin) 多謝

    Nei giu mei minga is the same as in my Garo language ....we also sAy "Nang·ko mai minga?" for what's your name😅 nang·ko means- object of you, mai means- what and minga means- to call... litterally nang·ko mai minga means what you called by? How similar .. xiexie laoshi😘

      @@DopeCantonese yeahh our language is also a Sino-tibetan so some of our words also share the similarities with chinese (Cantonese , Mandarin etc)and other Tibeto -Burman languages... as:ngo (I in Cantonese)wo (in Mandarin for I) and Anga in our Native Garo language... ni (Mandarin) nei (Cantonese) and na·a in Garo for 'you'.....and there are many similarities including our Grammar too... And for these reasons I'm learning Mandarin.... for it is easier for me than Cantonese...😁.. Xiexie ni le laoshi, ♥️from north-east 🇮🇳

    Hi Gloria, I've always heard of "menu" as caan1 paai4. Is there a difference between caan1 paai4 and coi3 daan1?

    Hi Gloria! Is 埋單 (maai4 daan1) supposed to be pronounced as maai3 daan1? And 承惠 (sing4 wai6) supposed to be pronounced as sing4 wai4? Thanks for these awesome videos :)

      It sounds that you are confused with tones 4;3 and 6
      Try to read these words
      地位 dei6 wai6
      唯一wai4 jat1
      餵狗 wai3 gau2

      @@DopeCantonese Tone 4 in Cantonese sounds like tone 3 in mandarin (for this example only)

      @@taipo101 I don't think so. Mandarin's 3rd tone goes down and goes up quickly but for Cantonese just flat tone
