    I'm going to rewatch this 10 times, set up my looper, and do this all day. Connecting those four bar chord shapes to patterns without thinking might be better than sex.

    This was a great lesson. Thank you. I've watched several Hendrix-inspired UA-cam lessons, but most weren't easy to absorb, and I got lost in the technique. You made it easy to understand and apply. There will be a lot of work to get it sounding smooth, but now I can work with it and have fun playing.

      It truly was -saw him at the coliseum in Toronto . At the time me and my band mates didn’t fully fathom the true greatness of JIMI. I was the only one in the band who was completely into his mastery as I saw a musician who was a kindred soul where he and the guitar were one instrument. I am still amazed as to what JIMI revealed musically with the guitar given his short career and not musically trained. I was in England and had an opportunity to see him preform again but sadly he died the day before. No doubt you can deduce that I am an older person.
      By way of compliment to you I appreciate that you take the time to explain the chord scale relationship in your instructions. You are an excellent teacher.

    I've only recently started to match the barre chords with the underlying pentatonic shape, which is starting to make things sound so much more musical.
    Add in some Hendrix salt, and wow, I can hear my progression. Thanks Blue - this lesson is gold

    only been following you a a short while, subbed and watch out for each of your videos. You have taught me more in such a short space of time that I have struggled with for years. I have just ordered your 3 books and will be looking into the Patreon soon. just wanted to say thank you, I am going to start guitar from Scratch and use your books to try and get me from zero to confident playing in keys and chords with melodic licks in the right keys and scales.

    GLVANCOUVER, Listen to hendrix album axis bold as love because he uses 6/9 chords and Non-root notes using his thumb which you should make a Hendrix lesson about these 6/9 chords and Non-Root notes using his thumb.

    I love your videos and the type of music you play. BUT It's a bit frustrating as I've found that the tabs on your patreon don't match up to your videos note for note. I'm finding myself having to edit the tabs to get it right.

    • @GuitarLessonsVancouver
      @GuitarLessonsVancouver  Місяць тому

      Hi, usually the tabs on Patreon are for Demo sections of the YT videos and the Practice Tips videos on Patreon. I think they're accurate to those. But mistakes happen. If there are any in particular you find have errors, feel free to message me on Patreon and I'll have a closer look and correct it. Thanks!

    With all my heart, I wish my thumb was long enough to grab a bass note and still play even sort-of cleanly on the top strings. It's just not long enough

    • @GuitarLessonsVancouver
      @GuitarLessonsVancouver  Місяць тому

      Yeah thumb playing like Hendrix is not for all of us. I rarely do it. You don't need it. There are other ways.

  • @whatilearnttoday5295
    @whatilearnttoday5295 Місяць тому

    It has absolutely nothing to do with the chords. You will never sound like Hendrix without a fluid, completely and entirely relaxed right wrist.

  • @johncarlo7395
    @johncarlo7395 Місяць тому

    Not out of tune enough, and not enough bum note's, to sound like Jimi Hendrix.
