- The importance of adopting your animals. I didn't mean to get so emotional but this is near to my heart!

Hi friends! I'm Juliana Harkavy. Some of you may know me as an actress from The Walking Dead, Last Shift, or the Dolphin Tale films, but UA-cam is what I like to call my spa day away from Hollywood. By the way, I have a BIG (around 60 kilograms) female mixed breed :) , saved right from the streets. She was only skin and bones, couldn't even walk(so I have to carry her all the way), she was so scared to get in the car. She was abused, probably beating up by some kind of large wooden sticks, as I noticed( scared of brooms)... In that time I had my own dog who was old and died only few months after I adopted her( like I knew "the end is coming")... Because of her temperament, she just adore to cuddle and play, even though she is huge for a female, I named her Baby. And I love her to death. ❤️🐾🐕
its about to be a year since I adopted my dog diamond. they said she's a Boston terrier but she looks more of a boxer and pit bull mix. but w.e she is IDC she's the best is always following me around and is VERY defensive over my son. she was nervous when she first came home and scared she was a stray but now she feels right at and full of energy and is always waiting for me to get back home anytime I leave and gets really excited when I get back. another great benefit with adopting her was shes good with other dogs and very playful and also trained. she knows that she has to go outside to use the bathroom is very good with the leash and when off the lease she doesn't run away and knows her way back home. she sits when I tell her to sit and of course she'll get her treat and just loves to learn more. most def greatful to have adopted her and I only paid 10 dollars with paperwork and all shots up to date :)
I have always adopted from shelters or rescued on my own. I have 3 cats. Kassidy came from a rescue and I bottle fed Pasquale and Hermione when they were orphaned. 3 dogs. Fausto came from a rural shelter....no one wanted him since he is a Pitbull :( Dottie came from a rescue and CoCO came from an abusive situation. Adopt! Don't Buy while Shelter Pets Die!
There is a great need for foster homes for shelter and rescue pets. If you can, please volunteer by fostering. It saves lives too.
So true! We've fostered two so far and I can't wait to foster again. So fulfilling.
And I have two cats and one dog. One cat and the dog adopted from the SPCA and the other cat I found outside and brought her in.
