Thank you very much -- this was a very clear and lucid explanation of all the features. I was able to get my machine homed with limit switches configured as both limit AND home halfway into this video after nearly a year of struggling with Mach3's interface. I used to manually home G53 and G54 before this.
Apart from mentioning printer ports in a 2019 upload, this was extremely useful. Most users have USB and LAN connectivity to their controllers I would hope. Although I still have some weird behaviour whilst setting it all up. Especially when preparing for, and hitting the Ref All Home button
Do you have a tutorial for setting my machine coordinates system? My mach 3 doesn't know the table size...I worked that way for 3 years and don't have a problem, but I'd like to set a correct limits for the machine
I am looking to implement just homing switches and set soft limits instead of wiring hard limit switches. It seems a solution as long as the machine is homed every time it is powered up. What are your thoughts please?
7:30 How come active high can be the safest? If a home switch wire is broken, it has already no voltage on it. If there is voltage by default (active low) you can immediately see some wire is broken since there will be no voltage and "broken state" will be equal to "home switch hit state". Where did I get wrong? Thx.
I have tried this, but the gcode always references g54, so even when I am in the g55 offset and hit run, the machine will move to the location stored in G54. Can the gcode be changed so it does not reference g54 and can run in your selected off-set location?
why does the display in this video show the X axis reversed and not the Y axis? when using the A axis as slaved to the Y axis what are the settings in both "Home soft limits" and "Ports and Pins" for the A axis? I would really appreciate some assistance
Great explanation. QQ if I may...with soft limits, I assume I have to move to 0,0,0 and then Ref All each time I power cycle IF I don't have hard limit switches on the machine. Supplementary question, I assume for homing I need to be using an Input for each of those switches and ide tidying them in Mach3?
FRIEND FOR USB MACH3 MODELS IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO USE THE AUTOMATED SETUP OF IMPUTS COMMAND SINCE THE SCREEN IS DIFFERENT, COULD YOU HELP ME? THANK YOU!!
Very good, I have a problem that I have found in Mach 3, I have the STB4100 controller with the TB6600 drivers and 4 nema 23 motors, the problem is that I get a warning (G100) when trying to set the soft limit, it drives me crazy and I don't know what to do anymore, it's been 2 months now and I haven't been able to solve it, I would really appreciate it if you could help me. If you need any more information to help me, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your time, greetings.
I set it all up and got it to work perfectly. I saved the configuration, shut down mach 3 and hit the save fixture. However, when I turn it back on, whatever position it's in when I shut it off becomes the new soft limit position. Do I have to run it back to the zero on the soft limits every time I shut it off? I do not have limit switches.
when I set all axis to zero and set them as a zero for the machine by ref all home it works well at every time I press ref all home a button. but when I close the computer and re open it and re open mach3 program and press ref all home button the all axis do not back to zero machine that I set it before how can I solve this problem please? Although every time I do a session save before closing Mach3 program
Hello, im newly working in THIS software i sow from other video the movement of the head can control using keyboard which is ⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️ page-up ang page-dawn but in my case my keyboard us no working for this command i hope somebody can help me
Excellent description of Homing and Soft Limits. This has cleared up a number of things for me. Thanks.

Just starting with Mach3. I'm loving your tutorials. Thank you very much. Jim
I am really impressed by your explanations. Well done and please continue on!!!
Excellent explanation, thanks. Offsets were always a bit of a mystery to me.

Indeed the only video for homing that one could need, Thank you.

thank you for sharing.I learn a lot .
so i have no limit switches.. Can i make up a fictional home for tool changes , since the gcode tells the machine to go home for tool changes
Very helpful video!

Great job sir thanks

this is gold!
Why can i not see the gcode in my display, it shows as really tiny?

I would like some help:
how do i connect Mach3 to Arduino?
do you have suitable software to upload to Arduino?
How change direction when de table hit the home switch ? And thank s for all.

Purchase a remote usb keypad on amazon. Plug it in and use the arrows on the keypad.
Youpi mast attrubate fonction in configuration in mach3
I found this quite confusing . Things weren't explained clearly and just rushed through.
