      if the hardest part of this recipe is the donut pan, I'm for sure making them because i already have one of those so I'll definitely be making these tomorrow!! Love from Michigan! (where we also have tim hortons, otherwise known as "timmy hoes" hahaha)

      I was thinking of trying just maple syrup and powdered sugar. I felt that'd be a yummy maple syrup glaze.

      Maddie Lymburner Thank You for your cooking channel your recipes are not only easy but delicious🤗
      I'm the youngest of 9 and I cold turkey became Vegan a week ago because I saw what they do to get our meat 😭😢 Your channel is really helping me!! Because my family and I are one to loooove food and throw down in the kitchen.They had questions and I got 3 of my siblings through your channel to take a challenge to at least do the vegan diet with me hopefully fully switch over one day but its a beginning and at lest they see and are educating themselves and they are so excited because channels like yours proves that Vegans can enjoy eating anything and throw it down in the kitchen with tasty food's 🤗

    So I'm 13 years old and have tried going vegan many times but my family doesn't like the idea and all of our family meals are NOT vegan. My goal is to when I'm in college and I live by myself I will start to use the vegan diet. Even if that's 5 years from now I have started to somewhat replace normal foods with vegan foods especially my breakfast (Rawnola with some milk yum!) and you have been a huge inspiration. thank you sooo much for helping me obtain veganism and enjoying it even if my friends make fun of me for it! haha I've written a paragraph :). There's just so much I wanted you to know. You have long time subscription from me for at least 5 years haha. Obsessed with your videos and Iiterally binged about 25 of them yesterday! ilysm ❤

      It might be easier to start vegetarian! I went vegetarian when I was 12 or 13 (I don't even remember...it was like 8 years ago haaha) back when vegetarian/veganism wasn't nearly as popular and there weren't nearly as many resources (I don't even think I completely knew what vegan was back then..) but I remember meals with my family weren't too hard as a vegetarian, I would just eat what they ate minus the meat or cook myself something simple (I remember asking my dad to buy me mock chicken nuggets and eating those a lot...totally not healthy but i didn't really know haha) I think being vegetarian is much easier to start with and much easier for parents to accept, plus it doesnt need as many special ingredients. Of course vegan is your goal but I think if you could just start doing vegetarian it you can start warming them up to the idea and just have an easier time with it until you can go fully vegan!

    • @ChloeLukich
      @ChloeLukich 7 років тому +4

      Good for you hunni!! 🌺 But remember it's YOUR life and body, and if you don't want to eat what your parents make, then make your own food. I wish I knew about veganism when I was younger, I would have had clear skin and so much more energy. I follow LilyKoiHawaii, she made a video about how to tell your parents :) good luck!

      you can do it! I was on the same path too! But after soe time I stopped caring about what others migh or might not thought about me. It makes it better, believe me. Embrace youself and support your intuition, who you are and who you want to be/become. ONLY YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE, you and the world, or at least your reality!!!

    I tried these and one other recipe this morning, these were without a doubt the favorite of everyone (only my family was vegan) and everyone LOVED them! They turned out amazing. I used my vitamix and pre soaked the dates before blending them. they were full thick but soft and moist. I also used apply cider to help the cinnamon sugar topping stick! thank you such a wonderful recipe. -vegan family of 5, of almost 5 years!

    wow amazing,i just made these with glueten free all purpose allergin free and buckwheat flour,it was what i had in house,i wanted to do the origional recipe but they turned out amazing, evan my very non vegan freinds enjoyed them although i had a very hard time sharing,
    i was kind of worried about them not turning out but they were amazing i will make them again.I had iranian pit in dates,soft like medjool but much smaller so i did 14/16 and the 10 MINS WAS PERFECT,ANYMORE AND THEY WOULS HAVE BEEN RUINED .I RECOMEND PUTTING THEM ON A WIRE RACK OR ATLEAST GETTING THEM OUT OF THE PAN TO STOP THE COOKING.I NEVER TASTED THE COCNUT AT ALL.thanks you guys keep doing your thing you are appreciated.

    I've been making this recipe for 2 years. So tastey- I sometimes don't bother with a glaze- they can hold their own. I typically substitute the tapioca with corn starch. I play around with icing - most recently its honey, icing sugar and water- thanks again for these!

    You are literally so amazing Maddie. I often watch your recipe videos in awe. I'm not an experienced cook whatsoever (which has contributed to a huge reason why I need the vegan lifestyle) and it continually amazes me how easy you make it all look. I just sit here and scratch my head at the smallest details; like the difference between baking powder versus baking soda and why you would use either or both. Amazing. Thank you for all you do. Love you guys. ❤️💚

    I just tried this donuts and they are THE BOMB!!! They taste just like a biscoff cookie and have the perfect consistency. Dense but airy, so good!!
    I dont have a food processor so i let my dates (i used normal ones, around 16, or 100g) soak in boiling water and then blend. It was funny that also my coconut milk spilled while blending.
    For real try this recipe 😻😻

    Made these today, but with melted vegan chocolate bar with mint for that hard donut glazing and it was a hit in my household! I was even told it tasted better than the donuts from our local bakery (one we used to go to before going vegan). Just one tip for those making it with pitted dates is to remove the pits. Thank you for the recipe :)

    dates and coconut milk create that cream often called Dulce de Leche, which is tradition in Argentina and other latin american contries. Literally, a staple in pantry. Regular dulce de leche is made from cows milk and white sugar (after you get condensed milk, until you get a creamy paste). YOU HAVE TO TRY IT GUYS, on it's vegan form, obviously. Life changing.

      here in Argentina people have a huge sweet tooth lol, they have everything (literally, EVERYTHING) with Dulce de Leche on it, from croissants to cakes or ice cream, even on tops of toasts for breakfast. Such a pitty it's made from cow's milk and soo disgusting. I used to be a big fan of it before. Thanks god dates exist! my go to for sweet cravings, amen

    I made these today with gluten free flour as I'm gluten free. I like the flavor but unfortunately they didn't rise quite as well as yours and the texture was a bit dense. I don't know if it was the gf flour but I'm going to try again and see if maybe I add more baking powder they might rise more and be less dense. Thanks so much for posting this, I'm really enjoying all your videos.

      I made the recipe today and my husband love them. I only got 7 donuts out of the mix and for my taste a little too sweet but they were really good. Can't wait to make the falafel recipe for me and my mom.

      Aw thank you!! I've never tried making my own powdered sugar... seems like too much of a hassle to me! The canned coconut milk is really what brought the density to this recipe. You can use almond milk, but I think the donuts would turn out to a more drier texture. The coconut milk works perfect if you just shake the can before opening :)

    HECK YEAH!! I'm going to have to try them. Thank you. You two are both so cute and are adorable together. Question: Did the icings harden up?? Or did they stay wet-ish? I thought an icing needed something like cream of tarter or some ingredient to make them harden.

    • @MaddieLymburner
      @MaddieLymburner  7 років тому

      Nope they hardened up!! It was perfect :) Thanks so much!

    If you're going to use a recipe for inspiration, you should credit it- in this case feasting on fruit deserves credit for this recipe! It's nearly identical to her mini powdered vegan baked donut recipe.

      Definitely!

    • @anne-mariebordua
      @anne-mariebordua 7 років тому +2

      You could soak the deglet noor before, I think it could help for binding with the coconut milk :D

      Deglets are smaller so you might need a few more :) And soaking them in hot water as Ann-Mary Bordua suggested is a great idea. Happy baking!
