- Francesco Recine (born 7 February 1999) is an Italian volleyball player who won 2021 European Championship
National team Italy
Born 7 February 1999 (age 23)
Ravenna, Italy
Height 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in)
Weight 75 kg (165 lb)
Club Gas Sales Piacenza
The surname is wrong. It's not Requine, it's Recine
Recine! Not Requine....
Is 1.85 m equal to 6 feet one? It’s 6.083 feet something..
1.85 is precisely 6'1''
recine is 183cm
He is a good player, but with the great change of volleyball in Italy, where he won the European and World Cups in the smaller categories, there are talents coming that are much better than him, and there are talents who started playing in the professional league, such as Rinaldi. From now on, he will not have a place in the national team Look at the World Final against Poland, he didn't play a single minute
What a stupid title. Of course height matters, and a lot, in volleyball.
Recine proves that you can still play at a high level if you are close but under 1,90m but only if you are in fact a "monster jumper" and are willing to have a rather short career, because I doubt one can keep that level of effort on jumps long before muscles and tendons start to give up..
Same with Nishida, I'd reckon.
@@nottellingya9887 I think Nishida is taller, 192, so it is not so "height impaired" as a 185cm tall, so it is not so surprising he can play professioal volleyball, it is surprising that he is so darn good at it :)
But the same goes for him, it is very, very tough to maintain for a long time the physical condition necessary for all those powerful jumps.
In my opinion volleyball would grow much more if they made different leagues for different range of heights, a bit like they have different boxing leagues for different range of weight...
@@Tech_Publica Nishida is 186 mate. He's visibly shorter than Ishikawa, who's 191. Another example that just popped to my head is Ran, who's 188.
@@Tech_Publica i mean, physical condition matters and it is important to work on that, but its also important to get strong ligaments and tendons, along with flexibility, everything is possible if you mix explosive training with care and a good kine
Look at some nba players who constantly jump over 1 meter and manage to have long careers. It's not like youre sentenced to have a short career if you jump frequently and very high. You can also look at some dunkers who jump close to 120cm for many years and they seem to be doing fine
Oh
He is a short player who will not have a future with the Italian national team. There is a lot of super talent now and he will not even have a place in the reserve
As lonng as he has good scoring and blocking stats his height doesnt really matter all that much. He just needs to maintain a good vertical

@@oussamaammour9555 cap. He was substituted for Michieletto when he was in the back row, cause Ale was struggling with service reception. It's hard to maintain playing minutes when the two leading outside hitters are tremendously precise.
@@nottellingya9887 ale and lavia play together and they have become excellent, and there is Rinaldi coming with great strength, so he will not have a place because of his short stature
@@oussamaammour9555 that's really nice, but I think Recine will be picked before Bottolo, since Mattia has been an on and off presence for Lube this season, whereas Franco has played before the likes of Leal and Lucarelli. That's just my opinion though.
What is his height in feet?
Check description
almost 6'1
