Saburo Teshigawara's dance piece Absolute Zero explores the condition of total stillness. The heart of the two-hour long stage production was adapted for the screen with the appropriate and consequent purism. Teshigawara and his partner Kei Miyata develop an almost unnoticeable inner speed and yet everything flows to the minimalist music of Gurdjieff and Thomas de Hartmann.
Directed by Jan Schmidt-Garre

Co-Produced by ARTE and BR
Nominated for the Dance Screen Award in Monte Carlo

Lot of modern western coreographs are deeply impressed by the work of Teshigawara in their own work. He is so talented, so much braking every rule of classical balett, his dancing touches even the air which starts singing. TY so much for sharing this!
The counterpoint with the female dancer is exquisite..!! Teshigawara is a god!!!Thank you so much for posting this.
Sublime !
now i am wanting to see the entire dance.. seems like he goes from being to doing, while the faceless she holds the space so he can go explore his absolute zero.. it was the music that attracted me to this video, glad i came. nicely done
We still can have HOPE for our World and deteriorated Human Society...when seeing beautiful poetry! Thanks God there exist Art...and dedicated artist.
These video is pure beauty... when my spirit feels free, it wants to move exactly like that, like breaking my energy shell and expanding into everything... thanks

Gurdjieff and Hartman is what the description is saying.
sublime!
que lindo...
woops..!ALWAYS read the dewscriptions!
Thanx a lot, sometimes I can be so dumb :D
The ending is missing. It is very moving and you need to see it....
J G Bennett did it. John McPherson is doing that. Now, even nicer... even though the upset that comes from the Fourth Way Churches!
you under estimate him, it looks like you don't know his work, he's far of being just an ordinary contemporary dancer, he's a great choreographer and "metteur en scene" too, shouldn't judge by this...check "luminous"
What is the name of this beautiful piano piece and which Gurdjieff/Hartmann CD is it on?
