Omg you did come trough. I was thinking, maybe this year we sadly won't get a video in this series. So much appreciated!!! Please don't ever stop.
I had a break between shows on Netflix so I thought I’d make something
@@somegraythings my kind of guy!
The lattice chair was hot.🔥
Really fun in an educational way. Recommended!
Everyone needs a little pop and a little bam in their life. 🧡
everything is teenage engineering
Somethings are not. Example: hot dogs
Nothing is teenage engineering’s 😂
If you ain’t first yur last
@@gerardochianucci3704nice one 😂
I’m calling it the heat sink chair! I’ve always loved pops of orange in products and the AWU stole my heart immediately upon release. Mint video, thanks.
You know i actually thought about adding a fan on the back to make it an actual heat sink. But that’s a bit too wild. I also love a good pop
These videos are like christmas morning for design nerds.
Your channel was just recommended to me. I study product design and this channel is a great informative past-time resource. I'm basically binging your channel though at this point haha.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I think the pacing in your videos is perfect and makes them even more enjoyable (or just plays a very big part). Keep going!
Thank you every year!!
Thanks for tuning in
I like these Trend videos. Gives me inspiration. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Enjoy!
I love that I seeing all these trends as well I’m not alone in my observations
You should make the next video, then I could finally retire
Perfect understanding of trends
U think so?
Sand / Stone and Orange Highlight are definitely big contenders.
Word
This was very informative and helpful. Thank You.
hopefully a 2024 trend will be more ID jobs available 😭. great video, i really enjoy seeing you work each of the trends into your chairs!
Yes, the job situation isn’t great in ID :/ thanks for watching
Been waiting for your video!
Soooo cool. I’m just a measly product manager at Amazon that bows to you cool and trendy design engineers. I can only hope one day to pivot to this fun and creative space!
Keep creating folks!!! ❤
APPLE SERIES PLSSSS....Design your own VISION PRO !!!!
I did the Apple series already, unless I’m missing the point???
Thanks for your great video✌🏻🔥😍
Love it! 🌸
Thank you!
great video, love your vibe talking through these styles lol. what modeling program are you using here? or maybe just a viewer on your ipad for the video
Cool video!! Happy to see some of my work used as a reference😍
Of course, it’s great work
Always love to see the notification pop up about a new video! Never disappoint!
May I ask you what these grey coloured sample plates are? (on the right) They look interesting!
Those are some rubber/elastomer hardness samples from Dezarc. They are really nice and convenient
Great content!
Thanks for watching
love this so much
Awesome!
This is amazing! I'm sharing this around, dont understand why you dont have millions of followers.
You are so sweet thanks
Awesome video as always!!!!
nice of you to say!
love your these ID trend videos, you should do more!
I probably should!
I love your videos! Keep it up my friend.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for featuring the k.no.b.1 keyboard! 🙏
Thanks for making cool stuff!
Truly inspiring.
Thanks
Another relevant reference for the orange highlight aesthetic would be Dieter Rams, who if I'm not mistaken was the source of inspiration for Teenage Engineering. Anyways great video! Looking forward to seeing more
Ya, TE is totally just a continuation of the Dieter. I feel like they are even a bit more refined than dieter. Too far?
Definitely a more modern take on his style. But too far I think not! I love it ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ They're both big aesthetic inspirations for me honestly, even though I'm more of a wood oriented design person myself
Another great detailed video on the design trends. Come a long way from a student to a professional industrial designer! Thank you and have a creative year!
Thanks for watching. You also have a creative year
man, I feel old. all of this looks like the stuff we had on our design tumblr blogs a decade ago
Tumblr was way ahead of it's time. So was the fashion from Friends
I love your videos!
I love that you love my videos
Greeeeat quality contentt 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thanks :)
Sausage chair love it
Yes he is a sausagy boy
Wonderful content ❤️✨
Thanks 🙏
Great video 👍 just discovered your channel! What rendering program do you use on your iPad? Looks quite smooth when switching angles
This series is still awesome. Imagine training an ai model on these moodboards to design relevant stuff for a year within these style boundaries.
Try it and let me know how it goes
nice story😮😮😊😊
What is the software displayed in 3D in the video? It looks so cool!
good job man
Thanks Broranasaurus Rex
Cool designs, thanks for sharing! What’s the brand of your blue microphone? Like it 😊
casually found you, liked and sub :D. will use this for this year.
Chill
Woaw 🎉
Wow sounds good
The room reverb and awkward compression in intro shot made me write this
I did it to be annoying. No jk. That’s just my room 🤷
@@somegraythings might just need a little sound treatment tbh. I know it costs a couple bucks but u would benefit for sure and u could prob make a video on making or putting them up. 2birds1stone
Me throughout this entire video: WHAT YEAR IS THIS 😂
Stumbled on this. Nice to see the trends, but for me, those chairs need more work. I’m not going to sit on any chair that resembles a sausage (I’m a lady, but even if I wasn’t… Just saying!) I also won’t sit on one that is see-through, and the Lego one looks painful. Maybe it’s just me, but after safety, my top priorities for chairs are physical and psychological comfort.
In my opinion this is more of a synopsis of 2023 design trends than 2024 trends. 2024 just started and I don't think a video can be made about the trends until the year is over lol.
Ok sorry I’ll try harder next time
Thanks for the feature! #sausage form
I love a good sausage. Thanks for the great work :)
great video!!! What app are you using?
In the description
love the content. just wondering what app you use on your Ipad to render ur 3D models
I don't. It's Keyshot running on my MacBook and the iPad acts as a second screen
thank you verymuch
@@somegraythings
That dining chair... bro
Probably super uncomfortable!
Could be a form of hostile architecture😀
the chunky, sausage form language is definetly the biggest trend... anyone have a theory on why this is popular? What are the cultural trends informing this form language?
what software are you using in the ipad to make the products, like that software where looked like it was rendering in real time
Details in description (it’s keyshot and it’s just casting from my macbook)
Do you have a Bambu X1C ?
For all the 3D models which APP or Software did you use ?????
In the description
What IPad 3D modeling app are you using?
Modelling on MacBook (description has the details)
Hi there! I wonder which app you used on your tablet to render and display the chairs?
I put all my software in the description
2:54-2:59 in your video@@somegraythings
can we please get more of these videos!!!!
But i get real sleepy sometimes
slapps
Bet
cool
Yep
I would buy the space engineer chair in a second after lunch...
It’s more of a dinner chair sorry
@@somegraythings touche! Love your work man!
I feel like sausage has been around in furniture since 2020
And sausages for eating even longer
What app are you using on your iPad for creat ?
Details in description
hi men, i was wandering, since i have seen you using an iPad, what app will you recommend me to sketch en 3d?
I put the software I use in the description. Sometimes I use Procreate to sketch, but there are some other UA-camrs with better recommendations on iPad sketching.
I really wanted sausage foam stuffed in the slats of the grid chair.
Like a combo meal
Choppy bike ;)
Is that french? I don’t get it
What’s that rendering software at 1:57?
Keyshot
I feel in those design the desire to show order in a too loud world. through repetitive geometrical patterns and stiff orderly alignments.
중앙대 화이팅
yep
i have a question...how are these trends decided/identified? is it a collective opinion or is it ur individual observation. I would like to know how to identify trends....
I am the all knowing trend wizard
Naw, just kidding. Lot’s of research and trying to boil it down into certain elements
@@somegraythings very appriciate of your work, helps a lot ~
Bet
I had the same question about this ! Anyway good job man !
Great video don't get me wrong. But I feel like design have been the same for almost 10 years. Maybe I'm missing something.
y le preguntaste al usuario si le gusta? si lo usara. pero verdaderamente formulada con entrevistas, y encuestas.
2 por q seguir tendencias.
3 el diseño, es negocio, no formitas..
I feel like the color Sand has been heating up for a while, like it’s been trying to be a thing since the more homely/sorf wave of ID fabric on tech home pod/allbirds vibe ect … but that it has really popped off this year, like it’s taken a long time for people to try out all the different sand hues and now we’ve figured out the good ones
Good point. Yeah it’s really in full force now. Lasting trend or temporary?
Designers should really stop checkin Apple, Dribble and Pinterest for inspiration...the results are wonderful but at the end all products have same minimalistic language leavin no room for risky and innovative shapes. Boring.
But it’s fun being boring
you look like woodkid
This is not art bro where's the old majestic character
Built it then be a trendsetter then istead being a whiner
