My horse was really out of shape, and I just started some light riding in the past few weeks. she seems to be sore when I tack her up. She seems to pin her ears back the most when I touch her belly or tighten the cinch. Is there anything to do for that?
@@rebeccaryckman1375 As we all know, when getting back into shape you go through a lot of soreness to begin with. Keeping that in mind make sure to continue to run your hands over your horse daily before you begin. Start to notice the areas of soreness or tension. Are they under where your saddle sits? Neck? Hindend? Spread your fingers really wide and run them over the ribs, staring behind the shoulder and moving towards the tail, do this all the way down the whole rib cage, both sides. If you’re in a climate with cold weather consider putting on a heated blankets, back on track, standing under a heat lamp- just to warm up the muscles before you ride. Once they are warmed up (10-15 min), then do the rib cage massage and try tacking up. See if this makes a difference. Thanks for the question and keep me posted on your progress!
***Quick question Brooke: is it good for the horse to massage the face. Jaw, cheeks, rub the side of their mouth? If so, how to do it. Thanks!!! Cheers from Silvana from South America Uruguay 🇺🇾
Great question, yes you can massage the face, jaw, cheeks as well. I have some how to videos on my social media, I will upload some to this channel as well.
My APHA filly loves this!!! THANKS so much, cheers!
TY for showing us these message techniques. My horse seems to be tight in her neck and I think it'll help.
Brilliant video! Will be doing this with my youngster as he eases into work
Glad it was helpful!

Muito linda essa égua zaina, um espetáculo de fêmea. Belo o seu vídeo. Voce uma bela mulher sabe se expressar muito bem. Com uma ótima aparência.
I can’t wait to try that! Is it better to do the whole of one side first, then go to the other side, or do right neck, left neck… etc?
Great question Cathy, I like to do one whole side then go to the next side. Let me know how it goes!
