Cleveland, Pings and Vokeys are the top 3 that worked for me in a fitting. Vokeys were the most consistent for me as I love the heavier head, but the Cleveland’s felt much nicer. The Pings were right up there with performance and the looks are fantastic.
I’ve got the Takomos as well, and I love them but really wish they did a 58 option. I’ve got a 52, 56 and 60 but would drop the 56 and 60 for a 58 lately. Apparently they’re going to release them at some point but the Wilsons in this video have my eyes open!
3rd year of having my sm9's in a 50 and 54 and love them. Got the wilson CB irons last month and they are great looking and even better to hit. Could be tempted to get the wilson wedges as well 👀
I play the Wilsons. 54 and 58. They're outstanding...I play them much better than my previous Callaway Phil Mickleson grind wedges. If you haven't done so, give Wilson golf products a try.
As a Brit watching a Brit, I’d have liked to have seen the prices in £s as well as dollars Pete. Thanks for the review tho. I ended up replacing my 4 year old Cleveland RTX Zipcores this year with SM10s, largely based on a throwaway comment from you that Titleist were best for the ball not sliding up the face (I noticed my zipcores doing this). Been really happy with them so far (no sliding up the face so far!).
I have the Wilson Staff wedges (50, 54 and 58) and love them. They look great, sit well behind the ball but it's the FEEL! So confidence inspiring it's addictive, so repeated practice is certainly no chore. Their irons are absolute bangers as well!!
MD Golf NV Drew wedges, cheap as chips from a manufacturer in Northern Ireland. Going great so far, recommend a look for people after a cheaper but good quality option
Lazrus 50,54,58 wedges are in my bag. They are one of the greatest value propositions in golf as far as wedges are concerned, IMO. Your video has me tempted to at least try the Wilson Staff models, however. One of my sons has the Wilson Harmonized wedges in his bag and we all like the Wilson Profile balls, which are another great value proposition for anyone who tends to find the locations on the course where golf balls can be "unfindable" (the middle of the fairway, on some of our local courses).
Just started playing the Opus 52 10S and the 58 10s and have to say they are a game changer. The amount of spin and control for me is something I have never experienced (granted good be due to never hacing brand new wedges before) been able to have the ball bounce once and stop dead is so much fun!
Self confessed Wilson fan so it's 49 and 55 Launchpad GW's for me. The looks may not be to everyone's taste but they are some of the best confidence building clubs out there for mid/ high HC's because they are so easy to hit. Had a C300 54 SW but I find the 55LP is more helpful from sand. Oh, and they are an absolute steal on the used market but look out for chipping on the backs from bag clatter.
After so many years of Cleveland CG15, I changed to Taylormade HiToe3 58 7° and 52 10° low bounce. AND I love them! Contact, spin, feel and versatility is great.
Great to see you at Bobby Jones golf course Atlanta. What a municipal course. Had the privilege to play it 3 tie over a 20 year period when I have found myself working over there. As someone from the North West of England it blew me away as it was one of the first American courses I ever got to play.
I have Takomo Skyforger 001s in 52, 56 and 60. Recently dropped the 56 to put a utility iron at the top end of the bag. I’d love them to release a 58, which they’re apparently going to, but if it’s not soon then this video has really opened my eyes to the Wilsons which look absolutely stunning and superb value
Switched from Cleveland to JP. A little time getting used to the sole. I'm talking a couple of hrs. That's all. The 4 way relief on the bottom is amazing. Glides through any turf conditions. And I don't have to worry about grind options. It does whatever you want.
I have a set of Cleveland RTX Zipcore wedges that I may never get rid of because I like them so much, but currently in my bag is a 54° and 58° Vokey SM6 and I love them. Only had them for around a month, bought them second hand, and my first time out with them I felt like I unlocked a cheat code around the greens 😂 I do really wanna try out the Opus wedges though and now that this video showcased them, I wanna check out the Wilson Staff wedges as well. I'm also a big fan of Wilson's clubs given their price to performance.
New wedges are great, but older wedges are often underrated and always underappreciated. While fresh grooves provide maximum spin, that extra spin can sometimes make shots less predictable, especially for the average golfer. Older wedges, with slightly worn grooves, tend to deliver a more consistent performance-two bounces and a check-up near the flag. It’s a straightforward, reliable shot that anyone can master. I’d even go so far as to say new wedges are often a waste of money unless you’re in the top 5% of wedge players globally. For most golfers, new wedges can actually lead to more missed shots because of the added unpredictability. It would be fantastic to see Peter demonstrate how using older wedges can save golfers both money and strokes while still delivering excellent results. With new wedges costing upwards of £200-250, an older model for £25-30 (way cheaper at goodwill and similiar places) and can perform brilliantly for years. Their consistency-especially on firmer greens-often outweighs the hype of a brand-new club. There’s a reason even professionals keep older wedges in their arsenal and use them regularly. Anyway, just an idea, but I think the results of that video would surprise a lot of people. Cheers, mates!
I have a set of Wilson Staff Model Wedges. The previous model. I love them and I’d replace them with a new set when time comes. My only issue with them (might be on other manufacturers as well) is that I’m on the tall side. So getting 1” longer isn’t a problem, but the 2° upright I have on my other clubs is a little issue. I know wedges are already more upright, so making a wedge more upright screws the bounce. So I’m a little “squatty” on my 60° especially to get the bounce right.
Love that you shot this at Bobby. It's one of my favorite courses in Atlanta. Though it IS expensive for a 9 hole round, it is by far the best manicured public course I've ever played. I hope you enjoyed it and played a round! (I'm partial to Magnolia more than Azalea)
I just recently purchased some Takomo Skyforger wedges (52 and 56 degree). Some of the cleanest looking clubs I've seen, and they are SMOOTH like butter to hit! And I am dogsh*t at golf currently. Definitely would recommend! Would love to see some more Takomo content on the channel!
Have the sm9s in 48 52 go to a ping glide because of the wider sole in my 56 ....i tend to get the ball up quicker than most thus reason 56 is my "lob" where most use 58 or 60 ....plus i dont play any full shots with 56 .....hit the wilson cb and blade couple weeks ago while i was at the pga superstore in Knoxville Tn. Having the lie adjusted on my i 230s ....and i dont hit it far enough anymore to use them ....think my club head speed was averaging around 70 mph ...but they were quite brilliant....move the ball left ..right ...high ..low ....with ease ...and i hit 10 shots with each model ....bang out the middle ever shot ....felt amazing ...but i have not hit a wilson wedge since high school ...and lets just say thats been a couple decades or so ...(48 years old ) ....but those do look really good
I’m gaming the JP wedges, previously had SM9 and love the JP wedges! They are versatile and look awesome especially when you have the upgrade customisation! I live in the UK, so wasn’t able to get custom fit but JP himself emailed with fitting recommendations (not often you get that level of service) and the aftercare service has been brilliant also! Another element I love is the fact that they are rarely seen especially in a UK golf bag!
May i suggest testing Kyoei wedges and even their irons, they are the founding forge for Mizuno and the former iron head producer for Muira now doing their own, note they also provide iron and wedge blanks for custom club makers, i currently run their irons and they are some of the best feeling blades in a one length model (custom).
I have used Wilson Staff wedges several times through the last 8 years or so. The sole grind on their low bounce option in a 58 or 60 is in my opinion the most versatile grind I have played.
I currently run ORKA wedges. I've had many, Vokey, Cleveland et al. My favourite wedge I have used and regret selling them is my Ping Glide 3.0. I don't think there is a better wedge for mid-high handicap golfers.
I picked up a 56 degree wilson the other day and love it and it was only a 100 dollars The JP according to website start at 295 for a wedge that is insane.
Great review Peter, ty, I purchased Opus 52W ,50S,the 52 in black, not sure how it's going to hold up , but will see,but it looks outrageous in standard, and the platinum 56Z absolutely love the looks that's the reason I ordered them at first glance, and I purchased the 46 Degree Wilson staff, beautiful looking also, on the Opus I don't believe the standard has the cross groves, just the platinum. correct me if im off on that comment, but the wilsons groves look dangerous, haha. It's a really nice job by Wilson as always .and I game the 60 A+ from wedge works . It's like a shovel. If I can get out off a fluff lie or sand with the A+, I'm leaving the course, lol. and yes, it's very confusing. but I love the wedge game , it's my favorite part of golf.
I would love to see a video with every wedge. And I mean EVERY wedge. All the way back to Sarazen's sand wedge from 1932. Don't be a coward, Pete, Give the people what they want.
I've used virtually every kind of wedge over the years and without doubt the most effective one for me was the Ping G20 set LW. Far from the sexiest but surprisingly versatile
I've got the previous generation Wilson wedges and I really like them. I especially like the "tour grind" (I think that's what it's called) that I have on my 56 and I went for the High Toe lob wedge which is really useful and a bit of a weapon from the sand. I'd definitely buy Wilson again
Been following JP on Instagram for years! LOVE his wedges! So glad to see someone finally review the new JP Camber line!! Peter please put Void Putters on your radar!! I need to see someone like you review them!! The tech is incredible and makes sense, but would love to hear your opinion!
Recently hit side-by-side the Vokeys, Opus and Opus platinum. To my feel, the Vokeys felt a bit better than the Opus, but the Opus Platinum felt a bit better than the Vokeys. I grabbed a 54S/58Z.
Love my 54/12 and 58/10 rtx zipcore Cleveland wedges. Hard to beat for the money I have the Wilson dynapower forged irons 5-GW and they are so good, way better than the T300s i had previously, so i could be tempted by the wilson wedges
If you had to choose between Opus and Wilson though.. maybe I missed that in the video. I have the Wilson and it's a work of art.. I got the 60° but the bounce is only 6. I screwed myself there
I love my Mizuno T24 though I think those came out in 2023. I did almost but the vokeys, they were fantastic. I was just a hair more consistent with the mizunos.
JP used to make some of the coolest looking wedges ever. This model while definitely different doesn't have that custom look and flare he was known for. In the end all that matters is do they work. Personally I think the Wilson wedges look the best and I'm going to buy a 58* Wilson to replace my well worn Vokey.
I have PXG sugar daddies and also Edison both are really nice. Forged and assembled custom to order. Both have a higher CG that’s good for non-tour players
I bought my first brand new wedge a few months ago - a Vokey SM10 56 degree. I was so pumped. And I hated it. I know it a great wedge made by the most popular and successful wedge company, but it simply wasn't for me. So since I liked my Mizuno T22 52 degree wedge so much, I found a 56 degree T22 and I just love it. My 60 degree is a Taylormade MG4 and I really like it too.
What do you think sand is? It's granulated stone/minerals and sand has various compositions but is defined by its grain size.. Quartz is the most common type of "sand" (Wikipedia: "The composition of sand varies, depending on the local rock sources and conditions, but the most common constituent of sand in inland continental settings is usually in the form of quartz."). The difference is that this is sand that's a specific type of stone, rather than various hundreds of elements and minerals. Our bunkers at our course (Riverwood National GC, MN) uses a granulated granite sand which also produces sparkle in the sand throw.
Hey bobby jones! That was my stomping ground several years ago, before they redid the course. I always wondered how the redesign turned out, I moved away before it was complete
I currently have the TM MG3's (60 & 56) and a Jaws Raw in the bag (50). I live in Dallas, TX, and like everyone else in this city, I'm boujee lol, so I would want to try the JP wedges even though they look kinda fake-ish or toyish.
I’m playing volley sm9 50 54 & 58 bought them new when Titleist brought out the sm10. £119 each wedge love the 50 & 54 don’t use the 58 much very happy with them. I play off 12 so don’t hit them great every time but happy with the spin and stop I get
I currently only have a pitching wedge from my JPX923 set, struggling to know what to add in terms of wedges, I’m a complete beginner really, only ever been to the driving range and once out on a course in Dubai.
Also comparing brand new wedges to anything is kinda hard. A wedge with FRESH grooves always feels awesome! People should test wedges after a couple months of use. Most amateurs aren’t replacing their wedges each season.
Cleveland, Pings and Vokeys are the top 3 that worked for me in a fitting. Vokeys were the most consistent for me as I love the heavier head, but the Cleveland’s felt much nicer. The Pings were right up there with performance and the looks are fantastic.
Cleveland CBX ZipCore wedges have been great for me. Not the sexiest looking wedges but they work.
I grabbed the cbx4 in 56 and 60 a few months ago…they’ve been working out very nicely. Hard to mis hit it bad.
Rocking Cleveland CBX 52 and 56 degree wedges and a Wilson 60 degree. The CBX wedges are dummy proof and I sure as hell needed the help!
Takomo 48/52/56.
5 rounds with them so far and loving them so far. Plus $89/wedge
I’ve got the Takomos as well, and I love them but really wish they did a 58 option. I’ve got a 52, 56 and 60 but would drop the 56 and 60 for a 58 lately.
Apparently they’re going to release them at some point but the Wilsons in this video have my eyes open!
This is a review id like to see

I just bought opus 54 and 58 wedges and are phenomenal. My 3 vokeys are up for sale. Feel, distance and control is amazing.
Cleveland all the way
I love my 56° CBX full face 2
IVE HAD 4 SETS OF CLEVLAND, THE DOWN SIDE IS THE GRIND OPTIONS ARENT GREAT IN THEIR LINEUP
+1, I play the 50/54 RTX6 Zipcore and have the 58-8 in the RTX Full Face 2, amazing wedges
@@DJGamingfpswhy are u yelling
I have the Wilson Staff wedges (50, 54 and 58) and love them. They look great, sit well behind the ball but it's the FEEL! So confidence inspiring it's addictive, so repeated practice is certainly no chore. Their irons are absolute bangers as well!!
Loved my Vokeys awaiting arrival of 4 Mizuno T 24 wedges 😊
MD Golf NV Drew wedges, cheap as chips from a manufacturer in Northern Ireland. Going great so far, recommend a look for people after a cheaper but good quality option
I play ping glide 4.0 in 48 from 50, 54 & 60 along with the hydro pearl finish. I am sold on Ping wedges and highly doubt I will ever change

Going to update in the Spring and these are on the short list...good to hear your views.

Got a 1st gen CBX Zipcore in 52/12 and 2nd gen CBX Zipcore in 56/12. Really good in the wet crap I play in.
I have Takomo Skyforger 001s in 52, 56 and 60. Recently dropped the 56 to put a utility iron at the top end of the bag.

I use two CBX wedges and a vokey 60 love the forgiveness on full shots with the Cleveland’s and the workability of the vokey for around the greens.

TaylorMade MG4 50/54/58 here - love them.
I will never give up my Cleveland smart sole wedges,,, they are the best I have ever played...

Nice wedge review. I have the Cleveland 56* cb, a gift from the club.
I just bought the Takomo 48 and 52 and they are incredible . I can’t believe how good they are for 89 bucks insane !!
Love that you shot this at Bobby. It's one of my favorite courses in Atlanta. Though it IS expensive for a 9 hole round, it is by far the best manicured public course I've ever played. I hope you enjoyed it and played a round! (I'm partial to Magnolia more than Azalea)

Ping Glide 4.0 56 and 60. For me I just love Pings quality, consistency, and feel. Seems like they are overlooked as well.

Do you think a higher handicap could use the Wilson wedges?
I have used Wilson Staff wedges several times through the last 8 years or so. The sole grind on their low bounce option in a 58 or 60 is in my opinion the most versatile grind I have played.
I currently run ORKA wedges. I've had many, Vokey, Cleveland et al. My favourite wedge I have used and regret selling them is my Ping Glide 3.0. I don't think there is a better wedge for mid-high handicap golfers.

Clevelands in my bag - have played them for years.
Callaway forged wedges 50°, 56° and 60° and love the feeling and control from them and so easy to use but i am a life long Wilson Staff fan.
I'm a high handicapper and I love the confidence I get with the cavity back wedge
pete - would legit watch you review every wedge in the game. cheers mate. you da man.
I'd definitely buy Wilson again
ive been rocking the ping glide forged pros for a while now, still the best feel ive had for a while.
Been following JP on Instagram for years! LOVE his wedges! So glad to see someone finally review the new JP Camber line!! Peter please put Void Putters on your radar!! I need to see someone like you review them!! The tech is incredible and makes sense, but would love to hear your opinion!
Best part of the video - Finchy saying he feels like a unicorn hitting wedge shots! 😂 Wish I could hit the like button twice!
Ping S159, best spin and feel for me. Just n bit hot on some shots😊
Best for wet,damp conditions
Cracking review video Pete. Love these sort of videos comparing products. Keep er lit.
Mizuno TP24 right now.
Mizuno T24 raw 50,54,58
I have Titleist 981s, 3-pw and thats it. Tempted to get a sw, is the Opus better than Vokeys? Love the idea of extra spin from the Opus
Recently hit side-by-side the Vokeys, Opus and Opus platinum. To my feel, the Vokeys felt a bit better than the Opus, but the Opus Platinum felt a bit better than the Vokeys. I grabbed a 54S/58Z.
Playing Haywood wedges and love them!
yoooo 5:21 was cleeeean
Love my 54/12 and 58/10 rtx zipcore Cleveland wedges. Hard to beat for the money
I have the Wilson dynapower forged irons 5-GW and they are so good, way better than the T300s i had previously, so i could be tempted by the wilson wedges
Currently in the bag is Taylormade MG1 in 52 & 56 and an old Cleveland CG14 60.
JP.... Hands down! Absolutely fabulous
Jp in the bag!
Fantastic wedges!
How does Pete not have 1M subscribers yet?! He’s one of the best!
Sugar Daddy II nothing else compares, great spin and and they look great
Callaway jaws...love them!

Huge fan of the Mizuno S23’s. You CANNOT mishit them.
Sounds like my Mizuno T22 56 10 d. It works very well as does a Wilson 56 forged in my holiday bag

7:59 You're right, it's not sand. It's actually granulated quartz. It's the same material they use at Augusta National for their bunkers.
After many a video, reading and some testing (of wedges that were not the ones i bought lol), i picked up the Mizuno S23 in 50 and 60.
Mackdaddy 4 50,54, PM Grind 58 and other set is Wilson Staff 54/60 from last season. Wilsons feel better. MD seem more consistant
I game legal smithworks - high handicapper - really improving my short game and close to green and bunker - 56o is a go to club in my bag
I currently have the TM MG3's (60 & 56) and a Jaws Raw in the bag (50). I live in Dallas, TX, and like everyone else in this city, I'm boujee lol, so I would want to try the JP wedges even though they look kinda fake-ish or toyish.
I tried every brand of wedge at my local club champion. The SM10’s beat out the others overall and just about every major stat category.
Vokey will always do very well in fittings as they have the options covered
Peter, what do you think of the Smithworks conforming wedge compared to the Opus AB’s Wilson?
Got the glide 4.0 with s400 but looking to replace them this year at some point, really looking at the Wilson wedges and Mizuno
Currently using 60 and 52 Vega VW10 wedges.
Cleveland RTX4 Tour. Good weight, easy to open/close the face.
Have the Cleveland RTX Zip Core 56 full &54 mid love them.
Cobra trusty rusty 53 and a Wilson 56 and 60!
I’m playing volley sm9 50 54 & 58 bought them new when Titleist brought out the sm10. £119 each wedge love the 50 & 54 don’t use the 58 much very happy with them. I play off 12 so don’t hit them great every time but happy with the spin and stop I get
Any advice on where to source the JP Camber wedge in the UK? Been looking for it for a 54 degree for its sole.
Pete, can you do a video on your technique on those 10 and 50 yard shots?
running a 50, 56 RTX4 and a 60 Sub70 JB raw! going to switch to all Sub70. just have a love for the brand!
Just made the switch as well and they are great! Replaced the vokeys without skipping a beat
I currently only have a pitching wedge from my JPX923 set, struggling to know what to add in terms of wedges, I’m a complete beginner really, only ever been to the driving range and once out on a course in Dubai.
I will stick with my Z Series Mizuno wedges as they feel and swing like my irons, hard not to like.
I think you should absolutely do a wedge shoot out for the top wedge. Brung in some cheap amazon wedges to see how they compete with the big brands
JP Camber wedges for Pete - 'My Precious' 😂😍
I'll stick to my Mizuno T22 blue IP wedges 😁
Also comparing brand new wedges to anything is kinda hard. A wedge with FRESH grooves always feels awesome!
People should test wedges after a couple months of use. Most amateurs aren’t replacing their wedges each season.
I'm still loyal to my RTX 4 zip core in 56 and 60 and my other 2 wedges are P790. Although I am due for some new clubs next year. Options are aplenty
