Love your videos. I'm in Asheville NC. No power. No water for 6 days now. Had to sell my golf clubs for cash to survive. It hurt but I have a child. Thanks for your videos. It keeps me sane. It's awful out here.. Thanks for the enjoyment guys
@@V_S_444 thanks man. Yeah sold my clubs but honestly would have to drive an hour or so just to play and the last thing on our minds. I appreciate the love brotha.
I played Cleveland wedges in the past. Recently took advantage of the SM9 volkey wedges being on sale due the newer ones came out so I got myself a nice discount. Not even three rounds in, and went back to my RTX 6 wedges. Night and day in feel and flight window I was looking for. I did kept the 60 degree volkey. Felt better out of sand shots than my Cleveland.
Bought my first set of wedges this past month after upgrading my beginner set this summer. Love my opus wedges to go with my rogues. The 50* is quickly becoming my fav club in the bag!!
Excellent wedges in that group. Currently my favorites are Cleveland RTX6 Tour Rack with Project X shafts in 46* and 50*, and KBS 610 shafts 55 Full and 59 Mid. They feel incredibly solid. A vokey SM9 54D sneeks in every once in a while. I'll have to come down the mtn and stop by your Westminster showroom. Thanks for the show guys
@@embersgolf Virtually any amateur golfer would benefit from using the CBX line of wedges over the bladed tour ones. And since you guys are mainly focused on mid-handicaps, they're a no-brainer: they're more forgiving, they're easier to use, and the front-to-back dispersion from the fairway is way tighter. This is one of the instances of "low-hanging fruit" where the mid handicapper can easily pick up a few strokes per round without making substantive changes to his/her swing. I enjoy your videos. Keep em coming.
For a mid handicap, I believe the hi toe 4 would be better than mg4. I understand the cbx being left off for the rtx though with the massive bounce but the hi toe 4 has bounce options. I use have the rtx zipcore in black 48 54 64 bent to 62. They are so cheap now. You can build a full set for around 180 bucks in good used condition. Good video for sure!
A guy at the club gives me wedges to test, and of all the ones I have played I like the Cleveland Wedges the best. Consistent, soft feel, and nice spin. 2nd would be Vokey.
Have you guys tried the Snake Bite X, or any of the Snake bite wedges? I have a set of 52, 56, and 60 of the SBx and I actually really like these wedges.
Ping is the 3rd most played wedge on tour and I know multiple mid-handicap players that play them and i play the personally at a 19 handicap. Bias is a little crazy when you dont even give some of the wedges more than a hit or two each.
We hit them more than that. It was just edited down to keep the length of the video length reasonable. Thanks for watching. These are our personal wedges so we are pretty familiar with each one, we just hit shots on camera for this video. You can find a review on most of these clubs individually or in other videos.
I’m sure they hit everything they carry a ton. Imagine you owned a golf store , a simulator, had a UA-cam channel, and had access to pretty much everything. Couple hits on camera isn’t the whole testing
As an old fart who grew up with a 3-5-7-9 bag, I chip with 8 and 9- pretty well, if I do say so. I have a cheap DTC 52 if I find the occasional trap, and the 75 and in job is done by a 50-11 degree CBX Zipcore. (I hit 'em high.) Sometime I may grab a 54 CBX to replace the 52. I'd probably have a 20 yard maximum with a 60.😄 As usual, fun vid boyz!
Thats just not true. The way the promo works is they will throw in the cheapest club price from the Lucky 7, so if you are buying a black ops iron..and want a SD3 wedge, they can make it so you are just paying for a black ops iron, instead of a full price $300 wedge
It got to our store a couple days ago so we hadn't had a chance to demo or hit them when we shot this video 🤦🏻♂️ We'll have a review on The New High Toe coming soon so stay tuned 👍
@@embersgolf I need to try the high-toe 3 because for the money. I may go that route instead of Sugar Daddy 3 even though I can get the SD3 at a very good price with hero pricing.
"Taylormade guys arent going to look at ...", "Titlelist guys arent going to look at ..." Please take bias and price out of it. What are the best wedges this year? It's Vokey, Ping, Cleveland, not even close. Ping did not do business as usual on their wedges this year.
You could grab any of the top 5 and they would work for different players. This is our personal ranking but any of the top 5 are Great wedges. But i agree with you, the Cleveland are going to be #1 for a high number of Mid-Handicappers. Thanks for watching and sharing Nik 👍
It made the Top 5... Thats pretty Good... In other tests done by other companies its not even top 5 for mid handicapers... Tour Level or pro is another story for sure. But its no where near the most forgiving which is what this category we rate for needs.

That is great feedback! Thanks for sharing 👍
That seems to be what most pros have in the bag. 60 vokey when their other wedges are something else
Vokey
Exact same story here
I love your videos, Dudes. Keep up the great work!
I’ve games Bettinardi wedges for the past few years. Absolutely love them. Will be upgrading to the newer series next year.
Cleveland is definitely the best wedge ever!!!! Great video

Ping s159 for me! Beat my previous vokeys by a mile and by far the best in wet grass for spin retention (comes in handy in the uk 😂)
Very good point on the Tech with the S159. Thanks for sharing Matthew
I game the Cleveland RTX. Love them
Nice! I like it!
just ordered a black 52* sugar daddy ll for 207.00 ( canadian ) 146.00 ( US ) lookin forward to it cheers from Canada

I got some new MG4s about a month or 2 ago and they’re pretty great. I do have trouble flighting them lower but the spin is so worth it
Cleveland all day! Love my RTX-6
Mid handicaps should play the Cleveland CBX wedges.
All handicaps should play the Cleveland CBX wedges.
Huh?

I love the look and how the ball lands so soft with my MG4 but I can’t hit them with the same distance or do they feel as my old SM
Yeah, it’s crazy how some just click and work for certain players huh?

RTX 6 is such a nice wedge! just got 3 for the bag love them
I found a raw Cleveland rtx6 60° for 55 bucks at a proshop and I love it
Great show
Out of curiosity, If the PXG & Cleveland wedges were the same or similarly priced, which would you choose?
Love the Bettinardi!

Xander Schauffele plays Opus for his 52° but Vokey SM10 for 56° and 60°

If you do the lucky 7 at PXG it makes those SD3 only $200 each.

I've always played Cleveland wedges. Will always play Cleveland wedges.
TM Mg4 Hi'toe...by far the best!
Love it!
Yeah you do!
Rtx6 black satin 50, 56, 60
To bad theres no Takomo's. Would be nice to see them against the expensive wedges
you missed the TOUR EDGE GOLF - Wingman Wedges
And please find a fitter that will allow you to test wedges on grass. testing wedges on turf is not the best.
I changed over to Cleveland wedges about 6 years ago.Was playing Vokey wedges, now I can't stand to hit a vokey.

SM-10,no need to look at anything else, but if you are some high handicap hack, good luck
Anyone else a ping person that think glide 4.0s are better than the s159
The last sentence of the video tells me everything I need to hear
Thanks for watching Small Ray 👍
Im surprised TM was in your top 5. looked like you guys hit it the worst of all of them haha. Looked like you hit Miura the
best
The Taylormade produces such good spin. Hard to beat in the spin category.
Taylormade wedges are good and forgiving but the feel is not there. Vokey feels way better imo. Talking about only those I know.
So you spent 1m20s on the Cleveland? and they were marked #2 when were #1 lol
It's the best wedge there for Amateurs.

Very deceiving title. Should’ve been “5 best wedges based on factors that have nothing to do with how well they play” SMH
Nice Todd
@@embersgolf it was a good review until you started factoring in things other than performance for your ranking, like price etc.
SUGAR DADDY!!!!

@@embersgolf before you guys think I’m a PXG Fanboy, I think PXG makes the best irons and wedges, as for woods and hybrids that’s TaylorMade Qi10
