I love my ipad mini for reading. I read alot of manga and webtoons as well as books. I use the "reduce white balance" to help my eyes and i love that you can turn it off from the control center. Its an "accessibility" feature. I have a kindle which I use mainly to read in direct sunlight or near water since I got the waterproof one, otherwise its mini all the way. I also use my mini for art and other things as well. Its literally more valuable than my phone tbh lol

I have almost entirely switched from Kindle to an iPad Mini as well - and I absolutely love it. It’s a great experience. Nice video!

For my bookish iPad mini, I created a separate iCloud so I wouldn’t be tempted with notifications. While I could do the reading focus, it’s not as tempting

I created a new iCloud. Signed into my new iPad mini with it.

My issue with Ibooks is that it show the page number. You cant hide it

Ooh fair. I never notice page number so I didn’t think of that. I do like the stats on iBooks though

I have also transitioned to iPad mini from Kindle. I have both devices and go back and forth, but I definitely prefer the Apple Books experience over Kindle (app or device).

Unfortunately e-ink is crucial to me. I work for 8 hours in front of a laptop, I'm addicted to my phone, I'd be cooked with any additional time in front of blue light 😅 especially since it does affect sleep cycle

Oof I totally understand that! Blue light glasses for the win at work. I mainly stuck to physical books while working in front of a laptop all day cause every screen hurt my eyes 😢

My eyesight is shot. My eyes are probably 6,712 years old. So only e-ink works for me now.

I have an old iPad mini 1st generation that i started to use recently to read books in pdf form. It’s very slow but works. Mostly read mangas and manhwas. I airdrop the pdf’s to my iPad mini, but other methods of transferring don’t work

I have an iPad Pro but it’s ridiculously too heavy to use like this.
I’m curious how much heavier are the minis compared to an iPhone?
Is it comfortable enough for single handheld usage?

    • @brisbookbag3404
      @brisbookbag3404  17 днів тому

Great question! According to this article, iPad mini is 10.4oz and iPhone 15 is 6.02 oz ( appleinsider.com/articles/24/05/24/your-next-iphone-could-be-the-ipad-mini---iphone-15-vs-ipad-mini-showdown ).
I can single hold it and have a pop socket on it. I notice it is wider than a kindle, so if you have small hands, it may be difficult to place a pop socket in the middle and hold with either hand. Otherwise, the weight isn’t that heavy.
For your iPad Pro, I’d consider a case with a prop stand so you can see if you enjoy reading in the screen without the weight? I used to have one (traded in for the mini) and definitely understand how clunky it would be to carry around!
      I hope this helps!

Its such an ego driven agenda to make a statement and act like it matters that you wont support amazon. Because it doesn't. All it affects is YOU. I support my wallet. And my wallet goes where it can find the best deals. Theres zero shame or regret in that. I'll RIP with every dollar saved possible.

Libby, as mentioned several times in my video, is also a great Amazon alternative and FREE and supported by iBooks. Additionally, if you own an iPhone, you don’t need to purchase any other device in order to read ebooks. Unfortunately, valuing money over ethics doesn’t make you superior, especially as there are so many wonderful, free alternatives. But, thank you for taking the time to comment and I hope you find what you’re looking for and, above all, enjoy reading! ❤

@@charlesjacques750 absolutely! You can use any iPad or even your phone! iBooks is the Apple equivalent to Kindle and can be accessed through any Apple device (it should come pre downloaded but can be found on the Apple Store to download for free). Calibre is a free source you can use in your computer to convert your already existing files to EPUB so that you can read them on your Apple device !
