A few years ago I asked you if you had considered poker chips for action tokens and you said you preferred those dumb little glass pebbles. At 37:33 you talk about impervious. You say that if you roll a 5 or 6 you "evade" the attack. That isn't true. If you roll a 5 or a 6 you "reduce" damage taken to 0. Which mean physic blast would ignore the defense. Which is different than lets say Super Senses, if you roll a 5 or 6 you "evade" the attack and that defense isn't ignored by physic blast. Just an observation. These are the kind of questions we have come up in our home games and have disputes about. Otherwise very nice video! keep them coming!! :)
One suggestion I have if you could do is put a small window in the corner showing the figures combat values that way u don't have to pull them into the camera. Just a thought. Overall great video and you have officially rekindled my Heroclix fire!

does all the starter kits come with all that, the dice, the characters, the disks, the directions, and the special cards (I know they'll be different charchters and dice but will all the starter kits come with that?)
Would you recommend getting a starter pack + a couple of boosters so that you can make a team? Or would it be a better choice to just buy the starter pack alone?
Hey Glass, So I just recently became a huge fan of this game and thoroughly enjoy the clarity that your videos provide with certain issues I have came across. However, on the time frame of 41:35 seconds you start touching on the topic of "line of sight" which has been killing me to understand. I understand that her range is able to pull off the attack/shot... but this line of sight stuff has lead be to believe that it has to be in a direct diagonal or straight line [ie /, \ or | ]. The line of sight appears crooked but again I really never understood line of sight... or maybe I'm just over complicating it...when you get a chance may you please clear this up for me ? ONE more question ....a character cant do " 2 non free actions in a turn." does that mean i cant do a power move like flurry ... resolve it, and then roll two dice to do a close combat attack with my second action token?
I just bought some of these at a con I recently attended because I was interested in the concept of the game. I bought some Indy Heroclix, and Marvel ones, however, I'm not certain as to whether I can use them together or not. The Indies don't seem to have cards whereas the Marvel ones do. I was wondering if you guys could help me with figuring that out. Thanks!
Really great video, my girlfriend and I are just beginning to play HC and this has given us a nice introduction to especially how powers work. I have a question about ranged attacks, if a figure has 2 lightning bolts, attacking 2 figures with ranged, does that require 2 2d6 rolls to see if they Hit each one? Or does the one 2d6 roll count as a hit/miss for both? Thanks!
I have a question on action points with games 200 points or more. If for any reason you have one character and have action points left over can you use those action points without pushing?
I got a question, I have the new Deathstroke from Arkham Origins, he has Regeneration, and his ability says it reduces by one. Say I roll a 1, it's negated. Do I get to try again next turn if I still have the ability or do I need an action token for using it?

Hello, my friend and I got this game yesterday, and we had very little clue how to play. This video really helped, but the actions are still slightly confusing to me. The action tokens are what I'm finding odd to get a grip on. Is it basically that each turn is basically a phase where you move 1 character at a time? Then, you can push a character to take another action before you move all of the other pieces you control? Is that how it basically goes? I'm wondering because, I noticed you used a turn to remove an action token.
Pushing a character will let to move twice in a row but you will take a point of damage unless you have that special ability he was using. I think the action goes off when your turn is over and then starts again i think that is how it goes
I have the Star Trek Tactics sets. I like it, but the sets were not taken well because the scale on the ships were not consistent. As a game it works well. I started back in the day with Mage Knight and Mage Knight Dungeons, even before 2.0 changed the rules. There is also Halo (Combat Evolved) Action Clix. Much like HeroClix with a change with the dial for the speed/ movement is taken out.
Maybe I missed the part where he explained what action tokens actually are or he never did. Do you have a set amount each turn to use to attack or move? Or do you get them every time you make an action...?
I keep missing this in the tutorials also, and the rules seem a little unclear to me...I don't know what special abilities use action markers (or if they do) and which ones do not. Are there some abilities that are always in use, if so how do you know which ones...move and attacks use action markers I believe...
if you have gambit, he's good with electroblast, he has 3 targets, with the ring he will have 4 targets and still 3 printed lightning bolts, and he has energy explosion on his second click. let your opponent group together and attack and target all 3(or 4 depending on how many points) then watch as the game ends before they know what happened!
Ok I have a very noob question, watching your unboxing vids of feeds and bricks a question came up in my head. What is the difference between those feeds where the series is composed of 24 figs vs those brick series that seem to have all those really rare figures (chases I think they are called)? It seems that the series with lots of figs have stronger, cooler and more expensive figs than those feed versions like Arkham Origins and the like. Can anyone help a noob?

I have seen ppl just wipe the floor with the very expensive figures you can get from a set, but it all depends on your luck (mine is usually not that great). The problem with ebay is that lots of figures usually include the really crappy ones that no one wants...
Depending on what your looking to get. You can find some great deals online or getting a brick. I think if your looking to get back into the game I would say look for exactly what you want. I have a website or you can check others as well as ebay.

Good question -- how does that work? It looked like Each character got one action unless they were pushed. Could each have one action AND each have one push? And then wht happens to the third action? OR am I misunderstanding: did each character get one action AND THEN you pushed one of them as the third action? So confusing!
So here is how it works. For every 100 points on your team you get one action. Each character is allowed ONE action per turn. So if you have 300 points and only 2 uber characters you will waste that extra action point each turn.

Now that I'm older(I'm a teen) I like the game and I want to start playing it. Where I live they don't sell Heroclix but I'm going to Texas soon and I like the comic book stores there where I have seen many heroclix stuff. As a new player I wanted to ask to everyone what should I buy first I told my friends (which they are 4) that when I get the game I would invite them to play the game. So what do you recommend for me to buy first if I'm a beginner and I'm going to play with 4 friends. Thanks for your help
find a "lot" on ebay, ask your parents to buy. make sure it has characters that have a card with them and preferably some markers(smoke, hindering terrain, barriers etc.) you can use poker chips as tokens (I do). if you go into the store, try to buy a starter pack, such as avengers vs xmen, as they come with everything you need to play a full game. download the heroclix app on android, just type heroclix in the search, and boom. there you have it.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I played for about 3 years back in 'gen1' Heroclix. So its been a significantly long time since i played or updated my collection. I imagine that it's changed pretty significantly over the years, are you still able to use the old figures at tournaments and at Store matches? (Besides Firelord, he's always been banned! Lol)
+Jacob Rainer after researching, the answer is both yes and no. If the host of the tournament is using "golden age" rules, that includes the old ones. Otherwise, no. So, your old collection may still be viable.
I used to play Mechwarrior Dark Age when I was a kid. I don't remember all the rules but this is pretty much the same. Just mutants instead of machines.

Did all these markets and tokens come with the set? Any idea where i can get a similar marvel set with guys..map, tokens, die, etc?
just0r There are starter kits that come with everything you need to start playing, e.g. map, heroes, tokens, etc. They are normally $20.

So if you dont have indom or whatever the other ability is you take one click of damage for moving? Also, the tokens are a bit confusing.

its a power action to regenerate, you can use it whenever it is on the dial, yes you give an action token to use it.
