I studied about the biography of Frank Abagnale Jr. He is truly a genius of his time. He posed as an airline pilot, a physician, a U.S. Bureau of Prisons agent, and a lawyer. All before he was 21 years of age. When he finally made a deal with the FBI and eventually became a consultant and lecturer for the FBI... He went on and and gave a heart felling speech about his life and how much he loved his parents. Truly remarkable man.

Here’s my list of Top 10 Movies Featuring Con Artists 1. The Sting 2. Ocean’s Eleven 3. Catch Me If You Can 4. The Usual Suspects 5. The Spanish Prisoner 6. The Grifters 7. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels 8. A Fish Called Wanda 9. Maverick 10. Diggstown
Blue Shell Not exactly. In each film, in order to pull off the big heists they needed a lot of small cons to work. Impersonating NGC officials, playing an inside man in a casino, conning a professional French thief, conning said thief again, planting people in important positions, even the 'Ella Fitzgerald' can be considered a con.
Jimbob1337 The con-men rob with their mouths, they don't call in a helicopter to pull a near impenitrable safe out of the top of a casino. Con-men will trick you into handing you the money willingly, whilst robbers like Ocean will distract you while they pick your pockets. There are many similarities between the two, and I am sure that many characters are both, but I think that WM has used this criteria (or something similar) when deciding on the list.
I have found so many good movies through WatchMojo! This channel is what got me into movies. Before i Watched WatchMojo, I hadnt watched star wars, The Godfather, and i am going to watch the usual suspects now! Thanks so much Watchmojo!
In regard to Matchstick Men: I believe Frank Mercer should have been the chosen con artist of the film, even though his role was much smaller by comparison. While Roy Waller did have marvellous tricks up his sleeve, it is he who ended up a victim near the film's end; cementing the everlasting qualities that made it one of cinema's most memorable con artist films.
My top ten 1. Wolf of wall street 2. Focus 3. Oceans 11,12,13, 8 4. Wardogs 5. Now you see me 6. Catch me if you can 7. Bad Santa 1&2 8. Inside man 9. hustlers 10. White man can't jump
I just finished ‘Imposters’ on Netflix. It’s now one of my favorite tv shows. They say it’s a true story bc they con the viewer. There are so many twists and turns to this show- it’s a must, if you haven’t seen it already!
How do we NOT include Diggstown with Lou Gosset Jr and James Woods. Con the crooked con man out of the entire town? Ex prison inmate and prize prize fighter and a hustler who's smoother than smooth. Challenge run the gauntlet. Bets get bigger every round. Priceless. Woods at His very best.
My personal favorites are probably the Bloom Brothers from the Brothers Bloom ^_^ Great movie, though I've never actually seen people talk about it. Definitely recommend it though!
Though this movie may not be well known, here's a con artist movie titular character to see:Miranda. The main character is played by Christina Ricci(aka Wednesday Addams in the live action Addams Family movies of the 90s),and she assumes three different identities to three different men:her boss,a ruthless businessman, and even her love interest-a librarian named Frank(played by John Simm, whom some people may know only as one incarnation of the Master from Docter Who),yet no one knows this film-especially when it's a London-based film, but even in a Top 10 worst British films list,at least have the decency to mention this film,Watchmojo!
My favorite fictional con artist is Moist Von Lipvig of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. And he qualifies for this list, as a movie was made of his first appearance: Going Postal.
Special thanks to our users Rico Goldstar, deepakkamus, Joe O Brien and Npngreen for submitting the idea on our Suggestions Page at www.WatchMojo.com/suggest
The only Reason Wolf of Wall Street wasn't higher is because they HAD to include both that movie and Catch Me if You Can and they didn't want them to be too close together
In case you were wondering how the Mojoholics voted in our poll, see the votes and entries here: watchmojo.com/suggest/Top+10+movie+con+artists Note, of course, that viewer votes are just one of the hundreds of data points and variables that we consider and look at when we create our lists. rockinchimp It is a shame. I havent watched shows like blackadder but shows like fawlty towers and allo allo and the monty python movies are just hilarious
Neal Cafery: Am I a joke to you. WatchMojo: No, but apparently not a good con artist. (Incase you did not get it Neal should have been top 2, 3 at most.
Hmmmm.. did anyone else noticed that WatchMojo "conned" us with its numbering of the list? Noticed it at number 4, when it said number 3 in the list... I had to stop the video and check each of the items of the list. It starts at number 5, where it says 6 on the list number on the video. Then number 4, where it says 3 on the list number. And then it goes back to showing the right list number starting at number 3.. Or it might just be a mistake.. >.
The Brothers Bloom didn't make the list? Those two were genius con men when they were just kids, and continued conning people well into their adult life.

they missed the grifters The Grifters is a 1990 American neo-noir crime drama film directed by Stephen Frears, produced by Martin Scorsese, and stars John Cusack, Anjelica Huston and Annette Bening.[1] The screenplay was written by Donald E. Westlake, based on Jim Thompson's pulp novel of the same name.

'Greatest trick devil ever pulled was to make people believe he does'nt exists!'
-kyser soze
Leo's are my favorite. Jordan Belfort and Frank Abagnale, Jr.
Catch Me if You Can is one of my favorite movies ever!
Surprised Danny Ocean's team didn't get an HM...
Same here man,..
***** Exactly. He is a professional robber. He pulls heists, not games.
Blue Shell Not exactly. In each film, in order to pull off the big heists they needed a lot of small cons to work. Blue Shell Fair point. And like I said originally, it should have been an HM for all the cons the crew DID pull alongside all the heisting.
I have found so many good movies through WatchMojo! This channel is what got me into movies. Before i Watched WatchMojo, I hadnt watched star wars, The Godfather, and i am going to watch the usual suspects now! Thanks so much Watchmojo!

AADESOUSA Well they kind of ruined it a bit

Why the fuck has Leo not won an Oscar yet?
7:47 You wrote 3 not 4!!!!!!
This is just sloppiness Watchmojo! :(
UnkeptMoss328 I noticed that first as well.. >.<
Also, for number 5 they wrote 6.. It might be a mistake or maybe it's on purpose..
UnkeptMoss328 bruh relax
If its not on purpose, the editor is probably fired.
UnkeptMoss328 That is definitely our bad, fortunately we're pretty easy going with our editors so no one will likely be fired for this.
Signed,

WatchMojo.com I DEMAND THIS PEOPLE TO BE FIRED WATCHMOJO!!!
This was a great list! I would have definitely added Oceans 11,12 and 13. Thomas crown affair and Good fellows.

Number 1 better be, Frank Abagnale, from Catch me if you can. Because its based off a true story
When I clicked on this I said to myself, "Oh Leo is gonna be on this twice"
Same, lol
Faxx bruh
I just finished ‘Imposters’ on Netflix. It’s now one of my favorite tv shows. They say it’s a true story bc they con the viewer. There are so many twists and turns to this show- it’s a must, if you haven’t seen it already!

Catch Me If You Can - One oh my personal favourite movies!
I'm so glad Matchstick Men made it on the list :D Roy is a great con artist. Not sure how I feel about the end though.
A great one that did not make the list is Revolver with Jason Statham. The con that is run in the movie is epic.

The only Reason Wolf of Wall Street wasn't higher is because they HAD to include both that movie and Catch Me if You Can and they didn't want them to be too close together
There was a good article about The Usual Suspects written a couple days ago. In case anyone is interested.

In all honesty, I believe that the four main roles in "Now You See Me" should have made it on this list
U forgot the movie “The Grifters”.
A Fish Called Wanda is so underrated, deserves better recognition.
Yeah it is awesome
I think people from the us doesnt understand or appreciate its brilliance.
Brynjar Reynisson Wouldn't surprise me, British humor doesn't always go down well in America.

Brynjar Reynisson Agreed.
The Sting is so good!

Nicolas Cage is my favorite actor :)

Hmmmm.. did anyone else noticed that WatchMojo "conned" us with its numbering of the list?
Noticed it at number 4, when it said number 3 in the list...
I had to stop the video and check each of the items of the list.
It starts at number 5, where it says 6 on the list number on the video.
Then number 4, where it says 3 on the list number.
And then it goes back to showing the right list number starting at number 3..
Or it might just be a mistake.. >.
The Brothers Bloom didn't make the list? Those two were genius con men when they were just kids, and continued conning people well into their adult life.

White men can't jump is a brilliant film
Where is the "The Man who would be King" and the "Ocean's Trilogy"?
No.1 con artist in movies is George Lucas - for making me fork out good money to see the Star Wars prequels. _# stillbitter_
Not even a mention of The Grifters? The Brothers Bloom? Danny Ocean or Linus Caldwell from Ocean's Eleven?
was hoping to see The Grifters in here. Underrated movie
