MGS1 (PSX) Title Screen: Digital vs Disc

- Comparison of Metal Gear Solid's title screen playing on PS3 with the digital PS Store copy vs. physical disc copy. I've used the same PS3, same capture settings, and smoothing is set to "off" for both versions.
Picture quality appears sharper with visible dithering when playing on disc vs emulation.

dont remember the main menu theme being this good
yeah! mgs1 and mgs4's title screens are my faves in the series :^)
@@LiterallySatanOfficial aghhh if only i can play mgs4 on pc
i am planning on playing all metal gear games that are canon completely because ive only finished disc 1 of metal gear
@@zelnickno.2348 ive heard rpcs3's running mgs4 pretty decently now, but honestly its worth it to invest in a ps3 just for metal gear, you can play all the mainline titles on it including peace walker.
@@LiterallySatanOfficial oo aight ill get into it
Kept us waiting for metal gear, huh?
its on rotation every couple years lol
I need a perfect loop of this for my AIO's LCD screen. Guess I'll have to fire up the game myself and record it for 5 minutes and hope that the shapes and the colors in the background eventually loop around.
unfortunately it doesn't, it fades out and the konami logo and intro cutscene play over again
Emulated ps1 games are usually displayed at 'upscaled' 720p without dithering
Oddly enough it seems my japanese copy of Integral is also 'upscaled' 720p without dithering despite playing off of the disc.
Does the Ps3 store still work? I just bought one and I want to play the MGS games.
i believe its still functional as of right now, but youll need to purchase a gift card to add funds to your account. you can play ps1 discs on any model ps3 though, if you can track down a physical copy of mgs1 it might serve you better in the long run
yeah, this is god
irony
sorry i might just be stupid but whats the difference i dont see anything different
its it the description! disc is much sharper and you can see every pixel very clearly
