I'd never thought of cooking the various parts of caponata on the grill! Brilliant, Dan. I can't wait to give that a try. Thanks.
That barley salad looks so good, and it's not the kind of thing I would have expected to like. I love the idea of the sweet and savory together.
That's what I'm making tomorrow. Can't wait!
I said the same thing when I saw it...
Not something that is even close to my wheel house but damn that looks so good...
I love both recipes. Please do more less-known Mediterranean dishes!
I love how colorful these meals are. Makes it that much more exciting to eat.
Becky is awesome...she needs to be on the show more often...her and dan are my faves...and bridget
I love Dan so much😍😍😍😍😍😍😍I would love to see him live❤️
Perfect timing. I was just looking for a barley recipe...other than soup. Thanks!
All of this looked absolutely delicious!! :) I can't wait to try them. I love this program and all of the wonderful tips and recipes I have gotten over time. Thank you so much!!
Perfect time, I just bought swordfish! I wasn't planning anything this fancy but maybe I'll be inspired by this😊
Amazing video with nice information about feta cheese . I loved the salad at the end .
Thanks UA-cam for serving me this 4 year old video after I bought swordfish steak this weekend while it's +80° outside
Ladies, you’re the best! Thanks for making me drool all over my tv dinner tray! ❤️
Are these beautiful recipes included in the Complete Mediterranean Cookbook? I just ordered the book online!
I love ATK...
I'm watching this video and I see a worker in the back who looks to be cutting bread has her hair down, then next clip her hair is up...
You guys rock!!!
I make a version of the barley salad, but it's more like a tabouleh with either barley or quinoa, which I prefer to couscous.
“Rain it down on that” my new line when adding salt or spices to dishes
Nice change of pace, I will try.
Wow! The moment you moved outside, I felt like I was back in The Neighborhood of Make-Believe! I expected Lady Elaine Fairchilde to bust out the “Boomerang, Toomerang, Zoomerang!”
Culinary Dan-style Let it Rain
With all those different cook times how do you keep it all warm?
Great Video, Thanks

Can you show us how you get your pans so clean and shiny?
Cherry tomatoes topping looks great but I hate fish if it's not one of the shellfish so I'll try it on shrimp instead.
KB Knowno I think this would be just as good with shrimp! Good luck
What is a good substitute for eggplant and white potatoes in a meal like this?
I was today years old when I found out that Feta was sheep’s milk and not goat’s!
Can you cook the pearl barely in the instant pot
What other fish can you use if you don't have sword fish
I'm vegan, but I have family that is. Is it possible to grill tofu, and have it not taste like socks?
Can you grill firm tofu?
I loved the recipes though there is nothing egyption about the salad 😂😂
Isn't barley salad eaten in Egypt? It appears in cookbooks as Egyptian. Not this one necessarily, but barley salads in general
Juan Sierra I’m not sure about other recipes of barley salad, but what I’m sure of that pomegranate, pomegranate molasses and feta cheese are definitely not a part of the egyptian cuisine.
I’m pretty sure this is not from the west and south coast of Mediterranean, might be greek or turkish as they both use similar ingredients.
Where's the skewer in the sword fish skewers?
Watch the prep and the grilling scenes. The fish is on the skewers untill it's done, when it is removed for placement on the tapanade.
Don't think I can find a pomegranate here in FL this time of year.
Pomegranate season is late fall to early spring.
@@asdfrozen TY seem like there are a lot around Thanksgiving and Christmas, then they are gone. Good to know.
It's kind of misleading to talk about the "dietary fiber" of barley, then recommend "pearled barley" that has the pericarp removed, which is where the dietary fiber is. Only whole barley is high in dietary fiber!
I have never been to Mediteranea. The American cheeses do not add dollars to the cheese. Sometimes snobbishness is added to European cheeses along with cost.
Why do they call it Mediterranean, when it’s really Arabic food by and large.
Sadly, Swordfish absorbs more mercury waste than any other fish that swims the seas.
Yes, swordfish is #1 in the do not eat fish.
do not buy Swordfish its not sustainable.... noooooo
Who cares? I don't want to sustain it. I just want to eat it. Also people who claim thay various things are not sustainable are usually a very poor source of info, no offense.
@@juansierra5704 no offence? google endangered fish
Swordfish has excellent documentation when it comes to both its lack of sustainability and its tendency to harbor unsafe levels of mercury. It’s a large, slow growing fish and stocks were significantly depleted when it became very popular in the 90s. If you want to be able to eat swordfish in the future, you very much want to think about its sustainability now.
@@adbreon thanks for more detail Anna , for both those reasons I dont buy it. So @Juan Sierra you may be able to eat it but you children may not. Google is your friend just use it.
Any ideas on a better, more sustainable fish to use?
so sad to hear you use the microwave, don't you know it kills the vitality of the foods put in there?
That’s not in any way true. So, no..they don’t know that.
@@adbreon Right? The world would be a better place if chemistry and physics were required courses for everyone.
