Thanks for being one of the most thoughtful and well-rounded reviewers on UA-cam! I would have just passed this by on the Prime Home Screen but will definitely check this out. (Catherine the Great too.)
It's the most irreverent entertaining and sexy show that I've seen in a long time and could easily become a classic with its talented and hilarious ensemble cast. It's so unserious and excels at that genre.
One of the funniest alternate history books I’ve read is Anno Dracula. The premise is that the book we know as Bram Stoker’s Dracula is in this world a forbidden work of fan fiction, or propaganda, and a kind of manifesto for the resistance. Because in the real world, Dracula won. At the point in the book where the fearless vampire hunters confront him at his English coffin stash, he didn’t run away but stayed and fought and kicked their arses for them. Then he became the Royal Consort of Her Majesty the Queen, and pretty much took over the British Empire. Loads of fun.
100% agree. Another revisionist history that i got behind is Ratchet, based on Nurse Ratchet from One Flew Over The Coocoo’s Nest. It is based on a historical time period, but its not supposed to be historically accurate. Great performances and story! Really bummed its not getting a second season.
@@ErikKain it started slow, but i found it gained steam as episodes progressed. I only recently started following you, so not sure if it is up your alley or not. Its not as good as OFOTCN at all though.
Ah I couldn't get pass the first 5 min, my GF lasted 3 min. Not for us, though we loved The Great with Nicolous Hoult n Ellie Phanie which we thought this may be like.
@@AussieGooner14 ah but see as I said in my review, I wasn't sure after the first five minutes either. But if you stick with it you'll see it's not at all how you think it will be.
@@AussieGooner14 I wasn't expecting to like it but it was a very enjoyable show with fun characters and kind of a light adventure which I was in the mood for. The Great is probably funnier but this hit the spot.
My Lady Jane is EVERYTHING! I binge this show in one day and i LOVE IT, can't wait for the second season!
Sammmeee
The second season was cancelled

Agreed. I went in thinking it was just a romance but it was a fun watch with great characters.
Erik hasn't lead me astray, yet. I'll definitely be checking this out. Thanks, man.

It’s like A Knights Tale mixed with Princess Bride with a bit of Lady Hawk thrown in. Fun escapism.

Sounds great!
The more I see your reviews, the more I want to see you on Film Threat chatting w Chris and Alan. Thanks for the rec!
That would be fun!
I want to watch it even more now, loved the review
@@nanda105 thanks!
I loved the Great and this sounds like it has a Knights Tale vibe, I'm gonna check it out , thanks for the recommendation!

@@AzDraon1 I started that and then forgot about it. It was good huh? Had an intriguing start

@@AzDraon1 I think that's what rubbed me a bit wrong. I love that film and book and a prequel felt a bit ...odd

And also not surprisingly...cancelled. BUT get ready for sequels to hot garbage like "Rings of Power".
nope. unsubscribed.
@@ajdc88 lol wow
this show looks HORRIBLE
Hey not everything needs or even should be for everyone. Then again, I didn't think I'd like it either and here we are. We contain multitudes.
It was HILARIOUS
