Hey friends, I realized there’s a gazillion butterfly bush cultivars! What’s yours?

Good info. I didn't know the Pugster Blue came up later in the spring. Good to know.

I bought 4 of these and can’t wait to plant them in the Spring 2023. Thanks for sharing your experience with this beauty.

Great video and advice, I took a White Buddleia cutting in July 2014. It didn't grow very well because of location and competition from other plants. I moved it in Autumn 2017 to somewhere sunnier and clearer and it grew beautifully. I have it on the top left of my channel homepage in 2018, sadly it died in May 2019 due to wood rott from too much soil at the base. Luckily I had already taken a cutting from this plant in 2018 when it started to grow for me. This cutting is the one I still have today and it looking very healthy.

Great job in not losing it totally.
Yes - sunny hot, less water and good drainage by planting high are the formula for success with this variety. Gotta check on white ones!

researching butterfly bush varieties. Thanks for the video - FYI, those yellow butterflies are swallowtail butterflies, not monarchs.

Thank you for the info on the yellowtail!
Do you know what the blues are?

@@FrolicsAndFinds yellow = swallowtail not yellowtail. The blue one is probably a red spotted purple.

Hi there! This butterfly bush loves the heat. The hotter and drier the better. I am in zone 7A.

I'm in Illinois. Just planted 2 of these and then started reading about the supposed horrors of the butterfly bush. That they can be invasive and also may not actually be healthy for butterflies. What are the odds! 😔

This variety from proven winners are sterile and are not invasive . Prune in spring.
